25.01.2022 As if a superb gala day wasn’t enough on Friday we also hosted a successful Paella Night more than 90 amigos joined us for amazing tapas & churros prepared by MLM Catering with Mr Paella providing the main course. All this and then karaoke- what a huge night enjoyed by all.

24.01.2022 UPDATED NEWS FROM THE BEDFORD BOWLING CLUB Sadly, I must begin this update with the news that one of our members, Andy Kovary, passed away late last month. His funeral was conducted under Covid 19 restrictions on 7th April. Andy had been a member at Bedford since 1st September 2012 and it was just this past season that saw him not play because of continuing poor health. Andys family has advised that when crowd restrictions are lifted, they would like to conduct a small ...service for Andy and arrange for his ashes to be placed in the Rose Garden adjacent to C Green. Our sincerest condolences to Andys family. Some of you will also be aware that Lesley Kelly is recovering from a fractured ankle following a fall at a local shopping centre. Lesley has had surgery and is recovering well and focusing on her rehabilitation program. I am sure you will join me in wishing her a full and speedy recovery. The Club has now been in lockdown for a number of weeks. For those of you following us on Facebook you may have seen that the shutdown has provided us with an opportunity to work with the City of Bayswater to complete the re-carpeting of the Club. That work should be completed within the next few days. Finishing touches are just being applied today and if you want to check out some photos go to our face book page for the latest pictures. Ryan has continued to do an excellent job with the greens and we are now in a good position where we can resume competition as soon as restrictions are lifted. Remember, the social distancing and isolation rules seem to working very well for the general community. So you are encouraged to maintain these strategies and keep safe but you are also encouraged to keep in contact with your friends within the club to ensure they are okay. We will alert you as soon as possible to any changes in the use of the club and the recommencement of bowls. Neil Dwyer President

20.01.2022 Hello Members Subject to any change in COVID restrictions guidelines between now & late this afternoon the following will happen: The club will open at 6pm tonight for roll ups & drinks. No meals will be available. Masks are mandatory as is signing into SAFEWA... You must be seated when drinking Pennant Bowls will resume tomorrow as previous HOWEVER Masks are mandatory at all times. You must be seated when drinking Pennant teams have been selected and I have attached a photo of each division sides. We recommend 4th Division teams meet at the club at 11.45am on Saturday morning. Bullsbrook have been contacted and they are playing at this stage. I am in contact with the bowls manager at Bullsbrook who will keep me informed if there are any changes. 14.01.2022 Whilst the Bedford Bowling Club has been in lockdown things are still happening at your Club. The renovations on B Green are completed and it is now looking a treat. Thanks to Ryan for his ongoing great work. In August 2019 we agreed with the City of Bayswater to share the cost of re-carpeting the Club and that work commenced today. We decided to proceed with that work as our contribution to the costs was paid to the City last year. Work should be completed in about a week. Stay safe and well and keep in contact with one another.
