25.01.2022 We love supporting our local communities and taking part in events that raise awareness and funds for causes close to our hearts. Our Vice President Margaret Starks and Director Sandra Coogan are pictured presenting a cheque for $5,000 to Kevin Greene and his wife Francis who led the St George District Cricket Club’s Annual Charity Walk to help raise awareness and much needed funds for St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation. The 20km walk last weekend went through Hurstville, Allawah, Carlton, Sth Hurstville, Oatley, Mortdale, Peakhurst, Riverwood and Penshurst before returning to Hurstville Oval for the second half of the T20 double header against Sutherland This donation took our 2020 total to SSMRF $7,500.

With over ten years experience in hospitality not only in Australia, but four years working internationally in Canada, Ron has the customer service skills and knowledge which make him an asset to the Club Central team. ... As well as being passionate about the hospitality industry, Ron is also studying primary school teaching at the Australian Catholic University. How long have you worked at Club Central: I have worked at Club Central Hurstville for 6 months. Favourite food: I have a passion for baking and making my own delicious macaroons, or as I like to call them macaronnies! Music Style: I enjoy listening to all varieties of music. Lately, I have been listening to Mac Miller, Paramore and anything from Triple J. Im a hipster like that. 20.01.2022 Get to know our Club Central team: Kirsty - Duty Manager, Club Central Hurstville Its time to introduce one of our favourite well respected, caring and experienced Club Central team members KIRSTY! Kirsty started off her working life with the Australian Government, when she snagged a job at just 17 years of age working in the Commonwealth Employment Services, what we now know as Centrelink, working in recruitment. Her next role of employment was an Aerospace Technician wit...h Hawker de Havilland making Aircraft wings for Boeing and military planes for Lockheed. Kirsty has been working in the hospitality industry for 20 years, previously spending 8.5 years at an RSL club which saw her love of OP rum on Anzac Day blossom. Anzac Day is her favourite day of the year when she enjoys catching up with the local diggers. Kirsty has a very adventurous nature, enjoys the outdoors and spends a fair amount of her spare time volunteering as a Girl Guide leader. With 35 years as a Girl Guide member, Kirsty has been nominated in the NSW volunteer of the Year awards for 2020. (This is why pre Covid, we never saw her actually working, as she was always off on some random adventure overseas :)) She also somehow finds time to run a Tupperware business, so remember her for all your fantastic plastic needs with lifetime guarantee! 12.01.2022 Get to know the know our Club Central team; Ben Club Central Hurstville All Rounder Ben is an outstanding team player at Club Central. He demonstrates a fantastic work ethic, having previously worked in other hospitality roles including a café and seafood shop. He has developed great people skills working as a PA and call centre. Ben has a degree in Commerce, majoring in Marketing from the University of Wollongong. He is respected amongst his peers and is a role model for ...new staff. There is no task too small as he helps out whenever he is needed, while also putting forward constructive ideas to the management team. Bens hobbies include playing and watching sports, especially soccer. He loves hanging out with friends and enjoys spending time with his family. Back when travel was more available he loved to see the world. Some of his favourite places being Europe, America and Fiji. Club Central is lucky to have such a friendly, positive, polite and hardworking team member such as Ben. We can see BIG things happening in his BRIGHT future! 08.01.2022 We have a new logo! You might notice that weve said goodbye to the four colours of our old Club Central logo and have streamlined the look of our new logo to red and blue. Theres some science to it all with the colour blue signifying trust, confidence and stability and the colour red signifying energy and passion. These are all important characteristics that we feel demonstrate our mission to make a difference!

07.01.2022 Get to know our Club Central team: Henry Senior Duty Manager, Club Central Hurstville With more than 30 years experience in a wide range of roles, our Senior Duty Manager Henry has done it all! From a working on dairy farm, in the military, security and hospitality. Henry says most kids find after school work at McDonalds, but his spare time after school was spent milking cows for $50 a week. He says milking a cow is like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it! From... school Henry joined the Navy and what he describes as the best 10 years of his life. After immigrating to Australia in 1991, Henry has held a range of hospitality jobs as a glassy, bar attendant, waiter and security officer. He enjoyed his introduction into the hospitality industry and by 1995 had worked his way to the position of Night Bar Manager of the Holiday Inn Menzies, located in Wynyard Station with 22 bars scattered throughout the Station. Henry also spent 15 years working at the STAR before spending a few years at Club Central Hurstville. In 2016 Henry took on the role of Operations Floor Manager for Wenty Leagues, before returning to Club Central Hurstville as Senior Duty Manager. How long have you worked at Club Central: In my first stint I was here for just under five years, followed by a four-year sabbatical. I have been back for a year now and am looking forward to completion of the redevelopment project as well the introduction of new Hotel and the new food and beverage outlets. Favourite food: Im not a big eater, but I really do enjoy Portuguese/Spanish food and if Im totally honest Im also devout follower of the colonel and his 11 herbs and spices. Music Style: I dont mind most genres of music, but I do have a soft spot for, RnB, Rap and lately because my sons listen to it - Grime (British Rap). My fav songs at the moment are (Take me back to London) Jaykae & Ed Sheeran & (Vossi BOP) Stormzy. Whats your favourite part of your role: This is probably the most challenging thing to name but I would say the people - staff, members and guests. Ill chat to anyone and I love getting to know what people want and then making every effort to provide them with what they need. Most importantly though is if you cant, let them know immediately, dont give them excuses, instead explain the reasons why. And always be sincere when delivering good or bad news.

07.01.2022 Club Central Hurstville is partnering with the Dandelion Support Network. We’re collecting baby and children’s items for the ENTIRE month of October. The Dandelion Support Network help provide donations and assistance to some of the most disadvantaged families and children in the wider community. The people they support may be living in housing stress, escaping domestic violence and abuse, living with mental health issues or refugees making a new life for their family. 06.01.2022 Get to know our Club Central Team: Andy Accounts Officer Andy is one of Club Central Hurstville’s longer serving staff. Andy is known to be very reliable and always positive. He has previously worked in the retail industry working for ten years at Kmart, but enjoys working in hospitality in particular our administration, accounts and banking department. Andy prides himself in being very detailed at his job and is well respected among his peers. Andy has an outstanding w...ork ethic and will always do whatever it takes to get the job done. What would we do without Andy! How long have you worked at Club Central: I have worked about 15 years, since we were still called the Illawarra Catholic Club. Favourite food: My favourite food is Pizza, but I’ve been eating Peanut Butter sandwiches for lunch several days a week since I was in school, so that would have to be up there! Music Style: I don’t have any particular favourite, I like to listen to variety of music. What’s your favourite part of your role: My role is focused on doing the banking but there’s always something new to keep things interesting. I’ve also always gotten along with all the staff both in the office administration and the operational team, it’s been a great place to work.

04.01.2022 This is a #FeelGoodFriday story... The Club Central Board recently bestowed badge number 2 on member of 51 years, Brian Northmore. Brian's family has had a long connection to the Club, with his father Tom one of our founding Directors and both Brian and his son working at the Club in Hurstville. As per the NSW Government guidelines patrons using gaming services and those moving within the Club are required to wear masks. Members and guests are only permitted to take off their masks while eating or drinking. Following on from Government regulations all of our staff are also required to wear a mask.
