22.01.2022 If you are a cyclist, tourism operator, business owner, school kid, parent or a local resident who wants to see a world class facility right here in the middle ...of town, that is free to access and will draw in tourists and events to Creswick (bringing all the associated flow-on benefits) then wrap your peepers around these pictures. This is from the Hammon Park Masterplan proposal, which is now publicly available via the link below. Permanent skills, trials, CX flyover, stairs and an incredible looking jump line, this looks to cater for the beginner up to the pro cyclist and provides plenty of non-cycling features for the wider community to enjoy. It is being discussed (and voted on) at tommorrow night's council meeting (Sept 15 @ 1800) which will be streamed live via the Hepburn Shire Council facebook page. To read the meeting agenda click here: https://www.hepburn.vic.gov.au//For-Website-Public-Agenda- To view the masterplan, follow this link (and go to page 113). https://www.hepburn.vic.gov.au//Part-2-Items-10.4-to-12.10

17.01.2022 Get pumped. VDHS has announced round 1 - Mount Buller 16/17 of Jan!

17.01.2022 You Yangs Regional Park is outside the Melbourne Metro lockdown area. If you live within Melbourne Metro, you can't go riding there in the next 6 weeks. If you live outside of the Melbourne Metro, you can still go riding.

16.01.2022 It's great to hear that so many people are getting out and about riding the trails during Covid19 restrictions! We are super keen on getting behind the tape this year for KOB, and Mini Muddies. We're currently waiting for restrictions to be lifted and the government to allow events of kob size to run, but in the meantime.....we just want to send out a friendly reminder to check if your @mtba membership has lapsed? Or, for those new to riding, having an mtba membership not o...nly provides you with personal insurance and public liability when on your bike, but if you nominate your local club, there are usually added benefits for members too! (Plus membership is cheaper for you if you nominate a club!) Currently, we're still offerring new members a free Club M.U.D tshirt, plus when we get back up and running, you'll get exclusive club ride days, plus more! Send us a msg if you would like to know more, or head to www.mtbdirect.com.au for more details on membership options. See more

15.01.2022 CALL TO ACTION AGAIN FUTURE OF YOU YANGS Parks Victoria have recently released the draft of their long-term plan for the You Yangs precinct. Positive aspect...s include: - Recognising the traditional owners and the significant cultural heritage in the park - Proposed MTB hub in Stockyards and Café at entrance - Small improvements to parking and toilet facilities MAJOR FLAWS include: The plan is superficial and does not include any data to support it. There are no references to current usage figures, no growth projections, and no impact studies into cultural heritage, flora/fauna or other environmental impacts these proposed ideas will have. The proposal does not address the current overcrowding issues or go far enough to increasing parking and picnic facilities throughout the park (for all user groups, not just mountain bikers). The plan is too focused on commercial and tourism opportunities, rather than the Parks Victoria core value Healthy Parks, Healthy People. Wyndham is the fastest growing region in the state, so the park should provide facilities focused on improving the physical and mental health of the community. The plan does nothing to address the major safety issues the club has previously raised with Parks Victoria. Unfortunately, the plan is an aspirational dream with no funding currently allocated. We appreciate these plans can be a slow process however while Park Victoria are still preparing their final plan, they need to resolve the roadblocks which are currently preventing clubs from maintaining safe and sustainable trails for riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO - Share this with all your friends, clubs, businesses, etc. - Read the plan and complete the survey - Copy and paste the major flaws above into the first feedback box - Add any comments you have in the additional feedback boxes You can download the plan and find the survey using this link: https://engage.vic.gov.au/future-investment-you-yangs-and-s The survey closes Sunday 1st November, so act NOW!!!!!! 04.01.2022 Junior Rider Program Update: With unprecedented events this year (Covid-19) cutting the VDHS season short and putting KOB on hold until restrictions lift, we’d like to recognise the performance of our junior rider program. All 3 of our riders raced in true Muddy fashion giving it a red hot go with Quinn Moore battling amongst the Sport Women finishing up 3rd overall. Lachie Jolly even with an ankle injury mid season managed to take out 3rd in U17 Sport Men and Charlie Mesley... won the first round at Barjarg in U17 Sport Men but then swapped categories with some solid results but after missing a round he finished up 30th overall in U17 Men. We’re still hoping to hold a version of KOB this year pending restrictions lifting and hope to continue watching these riders development. Photo cred: Dean Rainford, Markus Kessler

02.01.2022 Last year, Victorian Downhill Series Mount Buller was cancelled due to bushfires....this year, racing in the snow! Good luck to everyone braving the conditions this weekend, in the first race of 2021!

02.01.2022 Latest advice from the Federal Government requires Australians to stay at home unless shopping for food and other essentials, attending medical appointments, ex...ercising or attending work or education. However please follow your State or Territories guidelines. If you choose to ride, please follow the ride etiquette listed below and work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.

01.01.2022 Unfortunately Mini Muddies and KOB for 2020 is now postponed due to advice received from MTBA and current Government policies around the COVID-19 virus. Rest assured the Club MUD Committee’s objective is to run these events in 2020 once it is safe to do so.

01.01.2022 Hey everyone, with yesterday's announcements from the Premier on an ease of restrictions, we are waiting for an update from MTBA on if/when we can resume Wednesday night shuttles and potentially events. Fingers crossed we can start shredding the hill together again soon. Banger picture of @bbj_crew2020 shredding sluice By @ameliahowler
