23.01.2022 Drowning in tupperware? Can never find the right size container? Containers always missing lids? Time to declutter.... My client has a large kitchen with plenty of storage space. Only problem was that with no ‘allocated’ space for the tupperware, it was ending up all over the place! We found containers and lids in nearly every cupboard and drawer throughout the kitchen. Finding the matching lid to a container was a nightmare. So we pulled it all out and sorted through it. Kept the best, ditched the cracked, broken or missing a lid and donated the rest. We matched up the remaining containers and lids and allocated a logical section of the kitchen to tupperware. A place that was easy to access, with good visibility to see what is there. The end result is a couple of functioning and practical tupperware cupboards. No more confusion. No more missing lids! Before and after pics below.
22.01.2022 Saturday Cupboard Cleanout My client had a hall cupboard full of random stuff and nowhere to store bedlinen and towels. This little project was a quick, easy fix.... FIRST: Take everything out and sort through it (keep, bin, donate). SECOND: Clean it. Vacuum out the dust and wipe down all the shelves. THIRD: Locate all the bedlinen and towels and sort them them into logical order. E.g. rarely used items on top and bottom shelves and often used items in the middle. Easy! And voila! My client now has a fully functioning linen cupboard located close to the laundry.

20.01.2022 Earth Overshoot Day the date when our global demand for nature’s resources in a given year exceeds what Earth can regenerate. This year, that date was 22 August, meaning that as of that day, we’re in the red. https://www.weforum.org//leading-and-acting-for-nature-3-/

17.01.2022 Saturday Spare Room Cleanout My client moved into his home three years ago. Being full time carer for his mum meant that he spends most of his time at her place looking after her and very little time looking after himself. The spare room was always meant to be used as a library/guest room (sofa bed).... But ended up being the junk room and dumping ground. We spent a fun afternoon sorting through it all. My client now has a space to sit and read his beloved books. And now there is room to pull out the sofa bed so guests stay in comfort as well. The images below show before and after pics. The after pics are work in progress. We have cleaned out the space but haven’t really styled the room properly yet so it looks a bit bare. There is still a bit of work to do.
16.01.2022 Saturday Laundry Overhaul My client had so much clutter in their laundry they couldn’t get to the back door to put their washing on the line. So we cleared it out.... We sorted through everything. But this time it wasn’t just a case of sorting into ‘keep, bin, donate’. This time we had an extra category we called ‘put it where it belongs’. We found stuff that belonged in nearly every other room of the house including the garage! Once we had cleared out the space and sorted through all the stuff we gave the space a good, thorough clean. Cupboards, windowsills, floors, the works. Then we put back what belonged in the laundry mindfully. Creating logical homes for items of similar use. E.g. My client is not a big gardener, but did have a few gardening tools and enjoys gardening occasionally. These items went onto the bottom shelf of the smaller cupboard. We found a whole bunch of light globes my client had forgotten he had. Very useful items that need to be easily located when required, but not often used. These went into the top shelf in the taller cupboard. Everyday laundry items went into the middle shelves where they were easiest to access. Voila! My client now has a fully functioning laundry. He can now access his back door to conveniently put his washing on the line in good weather. In poor weather he now has enough space in the laundry to put up his clothes horse to dry clothes.

12.01.2022 Sunday Storeroom Cleanout Moving into a new home can be daunting. Finding logical and practical places to store things in a new environment can be challenging.... In moving from one space to another my client had to preempt how she would live in the new space in order to best know what to put where. Difficult to do. The new home had a very spacious store room adjacent to the kitchen. Perfect for additional crockery, cutlery, serving trays and baking dishes for a busy mum who enjoys entertaining. With a little bit of effort we created an easy to use, functional space that catered to her everyday needs whilst enabling her to entertain in style. Before and after pics attached.

08.01.2022 Sunday Declutter Sessions Drowning in cleaning products? When you have a huge house with several bathrooms and toilets, a big kitchen with three sinks and a large laundry it can be hard keeping track of all your cleaning products.... This was the case here. My client had products scattered under sinks all over the house. Not being able to keep track of what she needed my client kept purchasing products she already had. Cleaning the house became a confusing and expensive nightmare. So, we pulled all the products together and sorted them into logical order and put them back into logical places. E.g. dishwashing products under the kitchen sink and laundry products in the laundry
07.01.2022 The things you find decluttering!! Anyone remember these?
07.01.2022 Water, water, everywhere!! I found these awesome sturdy round plastic saucers at Bunnings They’re meant to go under plant pots but they’re great to fill with water and put around the garden for all the furry, winged and crunchy little critters that visit your garden... Everything needs water to survive. That includes birds, possums, lizards, insects and slugs Place your saucers away from direct sunlight in an accessible position where they are protected by foliage Don’t place it out in the open. The water will heat up in the sun and small birds won’t use it as they will feel over exposed to larger more predatory birds This morning I have put out five saucers of water around the garden. I’ll check on them every few days over summer and refresh the water Even Layla agrees it’s a good idea! I placed the first saucer under her favourite window where she likes to sit. It might give her a bit of entertainment when the birds come to drink and bathe

03.01.2022 Recent Sunday Declutter Session Converting a junk room into a beautiful, useful home office, dance practice studio and yoga space. My client runs her own business from home but without the space to be set up properly was working from the dining room/kitchen table.... Her daughter loves to practice dance and yoga but had no space to do so. In need of a space that could cater to all these things we thought we could convert the junk room. The results are fantastic and everyone is happy. They now have a functional, productive and beautiful space they can share together. First are the before shots, then the after shots
