25.01.2022 To the Filipino & International Rugby League Community, My name is Paul Sheedy, the Vice President of the Philippines National Rugby League & previous Melbourne Storm player. For many of you following the progress of Rugby League in the Philippines you are aware of our plans to start the inaugural competition in October this year.... What many here may not know is that we are a volunteer organisation so all who represent the Tamaraw national team and have started playing "The Greatest Game of All" in the Philippines. They have done so by putting their hands in their wallets & paid up with their own money to achieve all our dreams of Rugby League in the Philippines! But we can only be a truly Philippines Rugby League if we have Rugby League in the Philippines! To be eligible to qualify to play in Test matches and all our dreams to play in a Rugby League World Cup, can only happen if we have Rugby League in the Philippines! We need your help to make this happen. Our Rugby League pioneers in the Philippines need your help to make our collective dream to be a fully recognised Rugby League playing nation and be able to qualify to play in a Rugby League World Cup to make this happen. So I would like you all to consider sponsoring a local player in the Philippines by donating $100AUD. This money will assist the PNRL with field hire, First Aid support, transport, food, water, accommodation for players travelling from one side of Luzon to the other. May I remind you Manila is on the West coast & Albay on the East coast of Luzon, that's at least a 26 hour round trip to play a game of Footie! For those sponsoring a player you will : Have your name on a players jersey Video from sponsored player to acknowledge your sponsorship Included in a draw where 3 donors have a choice of either a: o Signed Philippines International Jersey o Signed 2009 NSW Blues Jersey o Cronulla Sharks Jersey We need to raise at least $8,000AUD to support our local players in our inaugural October competition, with a draw on the 30th of September!
