16.01.2022 WELL - WHAT A FINANCIAL YEAR THAT WAS...... Some would be glad that it is over, especially with COVID-19 in the midst. Today is the beginning of a new year, and whilst we have been quiet on social media lately, due to Jobkeeper and EOFY tax planning, we are still busy assisting our clients.... Just a reminder that you will not receive your Income Statement (PAYG Summary/Group Certificate) from your employer anymore. Due to Single Touch Payroll being introduced and mandatory reporting of your wages/salary to the ATO, the ATO will upload your Income Statement to your MyGov account once they have finalised them. The ATO have advised to allow a couple of weeks for this to happen. We also have access to your Income Statement, via our Tax Agents Portal, so we can download the statement for your 2020 tax, when preparing your return. 01.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATES FOR JOBKEEPER V2 (as of 17 August 2020) On 21 July 2020, the Government announced that JobKeeper would be extended to 28 March 2021, but it will have reduced payments to employers and it will be harder to qualify to receive it. All employers wanting to claim JobKeeper payments from 28 September 2020 will need to reassess their eligibility again and prove that their turnover has declined based on actual figures....Continue reading
