14.01.2022 LIGHTING THE UNITY CANDLE: It is sometimes performed to symbolize the joining together of the two families, and their love for the bride and the groom, into one united family that loves the new husband and wife. More often it is to symbolize the union of two individuals, becoming one in commitment. As the bride and groom use these two flames to light the unity candle, they bring the love of both families together in a united love of the new couple. Generally, the two tapers are left burning and replaced in their holders (because each family's love for their own will continue). However, in some ceremonies they may blow out their individual candles.

12.01.2022 Wedding readings don't always have to be serious! Try this one from Pam Ayres: Yes, Ill marry you, my dear. And heres the reason why. So I can push you out of bed... When the baby starts to cry. And if we hear a knocking And its creepy and its late, I hand you the torch you see, And you investigate. Yes Ill marry you, my dear, You may not apprehend it, But when the tumble-drier goes Its you that has to mend it. You have to face the neighbour Should our labrador attack him, And if a drunkard fondles me Its you that has to whack him. Yes, Ill marry you, Youre virile and youre lean, My house is like a pigsty You can help to keep it clean. That sexy little dinner Which you served by candlelight, As I do chipolatas, You can cook it every night!!! Its you who has to work the drill And put up curtain track, And when Ive got PMT its you who gets the flak, I do see great advantages, But none of them for you, And so before you see the light, I DO, I DO, I DO!!

12.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? The tradition of a white wedding is commonly credited to Queen Victoria's choice to wear a white wedding dress at her wedding to Prince Albert in 1840. Royal brides before Victoria did not typically wear white, instead choosing "heavy brocaded gowns embroidered with white and silver thread," with red being a particularly popular colour in Western Europe more generally. European and American brides had been wearing a plethora of colours, including blue, yellow, and practical colours like black, brown, or gray. As accounts of Victoria's wedding spread across the Atlantic and throughout Europe, elites followed her lead.

11.01.2022 The Mothers Rose Ceremony, which is also known as "The Rose Presentation", typically occurs near the beginning of the wedding ceremony, and is especially sweet and touching when its a surprise for the Mums! The couple places two roses with a ribbon tied around them on the ceremonial table. You can use any flower, however the Rose is a universal symbol of love and can be pressed really easily in a book for a keepsake. The Rose Presentation can be extended to parents, grandparents or other people who have been significant influences in the lives of the bride and groom.

06.01.2022 "Do we really have to have a rehearsal?" In most cases it's a good idea. A rehearsal ensures that everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing, when they are supposed to be doing it and helps create calm and order within the Wedding. When a wedding is well coordinated, the guests relax and have a much better time. But more importantly...so do the bride and groom!!
