25.01.2022 Alibaba trying to sign in to myGov!

25.01.2022 This is why we are in business - to keep Centrelink honest! Here’s a quote from the following article: ‘To have hundreds of people, who are fairly poorly paid and trained, taking calls from hundreds of people can lead to problems. You’re putting people in charge of people lives if they make a mistake it can mean people might miss out on payment’

24.01.2022 1. When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison. 2. To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it. 3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight. 4. It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles. 5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late.... 6. When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago. 7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects. 8. I had my patience tested. I'm negative. 9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers. 10. If you're sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, "Did you bring the money?" 11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing. 12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever. 13. I run like the winded. 14. I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on. 15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?" 16. When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery? 17. I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited. 18. When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east." 19. Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out. 20. My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb. Which one is YOUR favorite? See more

21.01.2022 Good to see Australians are so adaptable - Sole traders account for the majority of jobs added to the workforce. InvestSMART’s Evan Lucas says if you take out sole traders and micro-businesses there were only 2,100 jobs added where an employee was employed by an employer. August’s unemployment rate defied expectations and came in at 6.8 per cent. Total full-time jobs added totalled 36,200 and part-time was 74,800. So that is the takeout on the full-time side, part-time jobs were a bit different, Mr Lucas told Sky News. Sole trading can be almost anything, what they’re also suggesting is it’s actually online services that have really boomed in August. That is why yesterday was so incredible.

20.01.2022 The age pension may receive a boost within weeks - Social Services Minister Anne Ruston has indicated the October 6 budget would include more money to help older Australians through the pandemic - we wait with bated breath!

18.01.2022 You may be eligible for a Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card if you’re Age Pension age (66), but don’t get a payment from us or Australian Government Departm...ent of Veterans' Affairs Find out about eligibility criteria, like residency and income limits, on our website: www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//commonwealth-seniors-health-

18.01.2022 The increased JobSeeker Payment partner income test will continue after 25 September, with some changes to the rates at which payments may be impacted. If your... income is less than $300 per fortnight, your partner can earn up to $3086.11 before your payment reduces to zero. Your payment will reduce by 27 cents for every dollar your partner earns over $1165 per fortnight. More: www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//upcoming-changes-income-and-

17.01.2022 Calling Centrelink is like.....

16.01.2022 The shadow social services minister, Linda Burney, said the government continues to contradict the evidence of the experts by cynically insinuating that Australians out of work are choosing unemployment. With 1.8 million Australians expected to be on unemployment by the end of the year, the reality is that there are simply not enough jobs for everyone who needs one.

16.01.2022 Giving tax breaks to the rich while freezing the aged pension and cutting JobSeeker back to one of the worst in the OECD helps neither the people nor the economy.

15.01.2022 Did you get an SMS reminder from us about providing your asset details? The asset test will be reintroduced on 25 September for several payments, including Job...Seeker Payment. You can update your asset details through your Centrelink online account. If you’ve provided information about your assets previously, you don’t need to update them again unless they’ve changed. Watch our video to find out more about the allowable limits. More information on the asset test here: www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individua/topics/assets/30621

13.01.2022 The more deaths, the worse your economy - the chart confirms that you can't expect to trade the lives of vulnerable citizens for better economic outcomes!

12.01.2022 Finally some good news for Age Pensioners - $250 bonus before Christmas and again in March.

11.01.2022 JobSeeker payment display glitch: You will get $550 if your reporting period includes 24 September. Some people are seeing a different amount in their future payments. Apparently this is a display issue, and ServicesAustralia are working to correct this. ServicesAustralia advises that everyone who is entitled to the Coronavirus Supplement will get the full amount they're eligible for in their next payment - see below for more details:

11.01.2022 It was definitely a different world back then ...no mobile phones to distract you...just your mates!

10.01.2022 If only we’d had a crystal ball!

10.01.2022 Budget Update: With so many billions spent on tax cuts the only benefit for pensioners in the budget is a miserly 2 lots of $250 to be paid in December this year and March next year. They haven’t reinstated the CPI increase from September, nor increased spending in aged or child care - it’s unbelievable! The eligible recipients will be people who receive the age pension, disability support pension, carer payment, family tax benefit, family tax benefit lump sum, double orphan pension, carer allowance, Commonwealth seniors health card, pensioner concession card and veteran card. Now is the time to ensure you are getting your maximum Centrelink benefit - if your need help, get in touch.

09.01.2022 The Coronavirus Supplement is being extended to 31 December 2020 for eligible income support payments. From Friday 25 September, it will be paid at the rate of ...$250pf. The supplement will remain at $550 for payments up to and including the reporting period ending 24 September. The income free area for JobSeeker Payment and Youth Allowance for job seekers will increase to $300 on 25 September. This means you can earn more before your payment is impacted. The Coronavirus Supplement isn’t counted as income. Read more about the Coronavirus Supplement and 25 September changes here: www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//how-coronavirus-supplement-a

09.01.2022 As always, if you need help with Centrelink, we are here for you.

08.01.2022 JobSeeker Update: The liquid asset test has been re-introduced for new claims only from 25/9. If you're already receiving JobSeeker Payment you won't have to serve a waiting period if you have more than the allowed amount in the bank.

07.01.2022 There’s one rule for business and another for Centrelink customers - how good is corporate welfare?!

06.01.2022 Interesting pie chart - The superannuation guarantee contribution (SGC) began in 1991. The wage increases working Australians should have seen from this period on have gone into the stock market through SGC. What do you think will happen to the stock markets returns ‘AKA our super/allocated pension returns’ if SGC is not increased to 12% as legislated - less than historic/expected total investment returns, that’s what!

06.01.2022 Great album by the way!!

06.01.2022 More of the same - just in case you missed it!! Any questions, get in touch.

06.01.2022 Good timing - there’s currently 1 job for every 13 unemployed in our cities and 1 for every 23 unemployed in rural areas!

06.01.2022 ‘Effectively, we’ve left living standards for the unemployed frozen at levels from decades ago - we need to permanently raise JobSeeker. And no, a one-off, ad-hoc raise isn’t good enough. We need to permanently index JobSeeker to rise in line with general living standards and wages, like all other support payments. It’s time’

05.01.2022 Yikes - keep your wits about you!

04.01.2022 Today we honour every police officer who didn’t make it home from the line of duty, keeping our community safe. Thanks you for your service.

04.01.2022 The only newspaper you need......Daily Dafty!

01.01.2022 This week is an opportunity to thank Carers for their vital and often under appreciated contribution to our community.

01.01.2022 Further to my previous post about corporate welfare - Retailer Premier Investments used JobKeeper to fund a $2m CEO bonus & dividends that enriched their billionaire chairman, Solomon Lew. The Morrison Govt won't ask Premier Investments or Mr Lew for a cent of the JobKeeper back. Yet this is how they treat a Centrelink customer.
