21.01.2022 ‘Here, for a variety of reasons, it is not possible to sow the gospel seed in an open way. ‘However over time, relationships have been built, and in God's grace, these relationships have been used by him to further his kingdom. ‘Many who have stepped into the kingdom have said it was the love and humility of the followers of Jesus that was the initial trigger to their interest. The changes are not sudden. It has taken time to think through the big issues, and what they wo...uld mean for the person’s future. ‘Why support and serve the gospel ministry of CMS here? There are at least three reasons amongst many. ‘First, we have so many privileges and blessings in Australia are we going to use those blessings only for ourselves. ‘Second, we have ready access to the gospel. People in the two-thirds world may have never heard of Jesus, and may have no access to the Bible in their own language. We can help with both. ‘Third, and especially noticeable in this location, people live in fear of death, despite their outward veneer of calm. ‘What a message of liberationof freedom from fearwe can share!’ With your prayerful and financial support, CMS worker J is able to share the lasting hope of Jesus. Your generous gift to the CMS Lasting Hope Appeal helps enable missionaries like J to proclaim God’s love throughout the world. Please give today at https://lastinghope.cms.org.au

17.01.2022 Over 80% of people in the DRC identify as Christian but they have many challenges. Christians in our area desperately need "faithful men who will be qualified to teach others as well." (2 Timothy 2:2b) Churches need gifted and godly men and women to equip their churches to be salt and light. The wider community needs churches who will model grace and truth. With lots of obstacles to maintaining functioning institutions, churches have a great opportunity to provide struct...ure and stability. Because of the many years of instability and the grinding poverty, many leaders struggle with a lack of theological education and ministry formation. We have been asked to come and work alongside the church in DR Congo to assist in training future leaders and increase the capacity of current leaders. Pray that there would be many more churches that are led by men and women who love God’s people and are able to teach the Bible well. That churches would be beacons of hope to their communities. With your prayerful and financial support, CMS missionaries David and Jennifer Juniper are training leaders in the DR Congo to help share the lasting hope of Jesus. Your generous gift to the CMS Lasting Hope Appeal helps enable missionaries like David and Jennifer to proclaim God’s love throughout the world. Please give today at https://lastinghope.cms.org.au
