Some of you may recall Nas is also blind and wa...s a keynote speaker at a previous national CMT Australia seminar speaking about the challenges of being a journalist with a disability. Not only is she blind, but has CMT and therefore can’t use Braille to read because of the senses in the end of her fingers. See more

09.01.2022 The CMT Aussie Kids Program is an activity of CMT Australia and Coordinators Peter and Jillian, along with a few of the kids are looking forward to presenting a...t the upcoming National Seminar later this month in Melbourne. The CMT Aussie Kids Camp was conceived in 2012 as a national camp to bring together children and youth living with CMT. The idea was inspired by a similar concept run for many years in the United Kingdom. In 2016, the camp became international with a group of kids visiting from the UK and last year a group of 11 kids and young adults attended the UK CMT Kids camp in Cumbria. The purpose of the camps is to provide an opportunity for youth with CMT to meet with their peers; share their experiences, challenges and successes; explore and enjoy challenging and adventurous activities in a safe environment; and learn more about managing CMT. The CMT Aussie Kids Program has continued to grow and develop throughout the years, with day activities like sailing and lab visits, and the new Mentor Program extending what’s already on offer to kids across Australia and New Zealand.
