24.01.2022 One hour zoom singing is about capturing an echo of the beauty of group singing, connecting people and keeping a business hanging in there. All welcome to these... surprisingly lovely sessions. Running every Tuesday and Thursday. A weekly session I am running for full-time carers through Alfred Health in Melbourne reminds me how some people have been in isolation for years and years and are so very grateful for the opportunity to connect and sing - even via a screen. Creativity is sometimes just for survival. Happy Week to you :) See more

05.01.2022 Warm the cockles of your heart with this beautiful story of love (and ukuleles) and finding a way to connect through the toughest of times using music. "Everyone put up their hand. Cool, amazing musicians. It was beautiful,’’ he says. ‘‘This is what art is actually for. To create community, to create connection and comfort. As a generous gift. Something humans can share.’’ (Big thanks to Michelle Fox for winkling this out and sharing it with us!)

It regulates our heart rate, improves lung capacity and a small joint study in 2008 by Harvard and Yale Universities (often quoted but elusive to find) even showed that choral singing improved life expectancy for respondents in rural Connecticut..."
