21.01.2022 TRUE THAT !!! Its safe to say the cool weather is finally starting to arrive. It has been teasing for a while but today it is COLD! There is no point in us lying..... This is the time of the year that most people drop away from their training! Most people opt to stay in bed or to sit on the couch in trackies and their uggies. When October hits and its approaching the Summer Season.. these people frantically come back to the gym and want to "get fit quick" and then they get frustrated because they dont! Well... here is a simple solution... Keep training over winter! Stay fit, strong and get ready for summer! See you all at the gym this week

20.01.2022 What...?? They arent "normal" lunges!!! The technique is completely wrong!!! Well... it depends who you ask and to be honest... WHY you are training!... Meet Luke... A few months ago Luke contacted us to help him out with his training so he could perform better at Cricket and Football. So the first task... improve his ability to MOVE! The standard lunge you will see at the gym will have his legs both bent at 90. And yes it is a great exercise... BUT when in Cricket or Football are you in a position where you have both legs bent at 90 in a lunge position? Well you dont.. so here is a modified version. Knees over toes... putting the knee and ankle joint under a little bit more stress with very light weight. Somewhat simulating positions he will be in. Simple but very effective Keep up the good work mate

19.01.2022 WOW time flies when you are having fun!!! This video was taken in April 2018 during a 12WC FFS Workout. Time to give it another crack this year... we have both registered for the 12 Week Challenge Fitter Faster Stronger starting in August!!... Glad I came across this video as my technique in the lifts have improved dramatically over the last 15 months! Cannot wait to see what is in store this time around!!

15.01.2022 Since I was a young 18yr old kid, I have had the priveledge to know & train Viv. She took a chance on an arrogant kid & called him a trainer. 8 years on, we are still training twice a week & having a blast at the same time!... Funny story today is that I set up the bar & said we are going to start with "Deadlifts" Viv casually walks up to the bar, picks it up perfectly then starts doing Bentover Rows. Much to my ammusement I ask... "what are you doing?" In which she looks confused to the point where she has no idea what is going on. On reflection I am now unsure if this means I am a good trainer as Viv has stuck with me for 8 years... or if I am a terrible trainer because she still doesn’t know what a Deadlift is Brad

The vibe is filled with energy & positivity!... 14.01.2022 GET UP & TRAIN... YOU WILL NEVER REGRET A WORKOUT! Extremely sore, absolutely exhausted & a massive day ahead at work... I had every excuse to sleep in this morning and get some extra rest... obviously I decided not to and I got up and trained.... And I feel FANTASTIC! Dont get me wrong, those 3 factors above are still there but I am in such a better mindset to deal with it today after I trained. On a side note... Wonder how many more sessions until I lose my double chin Happy Hump Day!

10.01.2022 The Showdown Bet #3 Our 3rd installment of the showdown bet keeps us all entertained and this one didnt disappoint! If Crows won then Lisa had to wash all my footy gear from my game on Saturday and scrub my footy boots. Lucky for her the Power came to play...... I had to wear Lisa's Port guernsey during Monday nights & Tuesday mornings small group session AND she chose the design of my beard for both sessions. There were definitely some weird looks our way last night but ahwells... a bet is a bet!

08.01.2022 STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!! We could all get something out of this!!! As the days get colder our motivation can fade away slowly & we can start thinking "I'll start up again on Monday"... Monday turns into another week... another month... & all of a sudden we are entering into Spring followed up by Summer. We continue this cycle until one day something clicks. Here is one of the biggest problems... We worry about a GOAL. Before you all carry on... goals are super important and are still a main requirement in life..... BUT..... our goals also work against us.... My goal is to lose 8kg. I lose the 8kg! Yay me! I stop my training & next year my goal is once again to lose those 8kg! Get my point? Sound familiar? We get so caught up on that GOAL That we forget our reason as to WHY we started with that goal in the first place. Being active, getting into fitness & getting healthier is a LIFESTYLE... NOT a quick fix weight loss challenge that you only need to stick to for 12weeks! So remember this before you embark on your next fitness adventure... WHY are you doing this??? Once your WHY is so strong then you will get rid of those poor excuses and those cold winter nights become so easy & as a result you WILL achieve all your goals and more! Have the mindset of today is the start of my NEW lifestyle change!

06.01.2022 The small little baby steps seem to take forever but they all add up eventually!!! When we first started doing the Turkish Get Up (properly!!!) we were doing it with no weight. To master the technique it takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. We then moved onto trying to balance our shoe on top of our hand while performing the movement... a lot harder that what it sounds!!... Fast forward a good 12months and we are really starting to see the benefits of the Turkish Get Up with our overall training. Our "comfortable" weight now sits at 16kg(Candice) & 28kg(Brad) as you can see in the video. The best part about the movement is there is always a way you can improve the lift and by no means are our reps 100% perfect every time we perform the movement! It is not an exercise that should be rushed! Perfect way to get the whole body moving! Happy Wednesday Everyone :)

04.01.2022 Sessions dont always have to be go go go! Brad just spent a quick 5mins explaining how to improve everyones Cleans... Or he was just showing off, Im not sure ... ONLY JOKING!!! Spending some time to explain how you can improve your technique & strength is just as important as the lift itself. Learning the best way to move and how to perform exercises correctly is vital! Keep moving forward everyone
