Between designing inspired kitchens & joinery for my beautiful clients - I do a little investing and study how to develop for profit with @buildhercollective!!! When a collective of passionate and hard-working people come together with a common goal, it’s almost limitless what they can achieve. When building or renovating on your own, you can be limited by finances and resources. When you start looking outside the box to collaborate with others, the dream for a profitable architectural build can become a reality AND it can be really fun too! We are super excited about our new development project in Rathmines with the newly formed, #BuildHer8. The project will be a beautiful collaborative project including six BuildHers who have all bought in to renovate and develop this project together. With so many different skill-sets on board, we’re eager to see how this project takes shape, and it gives Rebeka a chance to actually delegate some of the roles she normally takes on herself! With sustainability, function and natural light in mind, we enlisted the help of prestigious @bencalleryarchitects to design two distinct houses, each with their own unique landscape design. In addition to all the fun and community spirit, one of the great benefits to a collaboration project is the ability to create a high-end architectural build in an affordable way. Not everyone wants to be a builder on site. Some people are more drawn to project management or interior design, which is why having a group of people building together can really make sense. 07.01.2022 Good morning and oh my god!! I am totally in love with this kitchen for reasons I shouldn’t have to explain....the attention to detail is incredible. The mix of materials is so on point think I just found my new fave architect @johnwardlearchitects

05.01.2022 5 years ago, my marriage broke down and I was in a terrible way. Left to my own devices at the age of 35 with 3 young children under the age of 2.5 years old, I found myself having to start all over again. At that stage, I was a stay at home mum and had no clear career path prior to having children. At the time of separation, everything including the mortgage was under my husband's name. You can imagine my surprise and anger when I was rejected for a $1000 credit card (omg......even at the age of 18 I got a credit card!) let alone being accepted for a home loan. It was at that point I knew I would not be defeated and I would create my own wealth and future. Fast forward 5 years....I worked for Freedom Kitchens, bought my very own investment property, made my debut on The Block 2018, won an award for hitting sales of over $2m revenue, started my own business Co. Kitchens By Rachel Collard and finally joined an amazing group of women @buildhercollective whom I now have the privilege of calling my friends and mentors. Sitting and reflecting in the bank yesterday, finalising the loan for the NEW project we call #rathmines with the fabulously talented #buildher7 team, I could not help but feel very, very proud and contented with all I have achieved so far. I just could not wait to share the new project with you all. Have a little sneak peak. We hope you come along for the ride Rach - BHC Style Guru
