Here's a few of my Tips To Live By: Keep it simple. You don't need to go overboard with recipes unless you're cooking a particular meal! Learn to use a variety of herbs and seasonings to give your food a flavour kick. Fresh is always best. Incorporate lots of greens and colour onto your plate. Remember, colour from fruit and veg = Nutrients. A lot of standard meals or takeaway options can be VERY carb heavy or full of saturated/trans fat! Make your diet protein focused and then include carbs and fats into your meals. C xx

24.01.2022 What a difference a couple of months of hard work can make feels so good to be back and like ME again!!! . This is my re-comp since October. . I'm leaner and weigh 4kg heavier on the right ... . After a solid year of being out of routine with my training it was time to get my butt back into gear. I'm now loving all my sessions, lifting heavy training 4x per week, eating lots of food (I track macros LOOSELY), no cardio. My overall mood has changed a lot, I'm far less irritable, my digestion, sleep and energy levels have all improved. 24.01.2022 My Crustless Quiche Recipe! An easy fave for meal prep to throw together quickly in under 10 minutes This crustless version is much more macro and calorie friendly without the pastry. Tastes great and stores well! - Ingredients:... 125g shaved ham 1/3 cup SR flour 1 cup shredded Low-fat cheese 1 chopped onion 1 chopped zucchini 4 eggs 1 1/2 cups light milk - Method: 1. Preheat oven to 200C & pre-spray a deep baking dish. 2. Combine all dry ingredients in dish (ham, flour, cheese, onion, zucchini) 3. In a separate bowl whisk eggs with milk. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour liquid into dish over dry ingredients. 4. Bake for 45~ minutes or until golden brown and cooked through . Serve hot or cold with salad! - Enjoy! See more

24.01.2022 This is the butter chicken I cooked last night. I've altered it from the more traditional recipe to make it lower in fat to better suit my macros! Still delicious AF but far more calorie friendly. It has fat-free yoghurt as a replacement ingredient which takes away a lot of the heavy cream! - If you're on a diet which provides strict 'can' and 'can't eat' foods, chances are it isn't a very good one. Its likely going to leave you sad, without a social life and craving everyt...hing you're not allowed. - Unless you have a food intolerance, specific requirements for competition prep or sports specific prep, or health conditions which effect your food consumption, there's no reason you need to live off chicken and broccoli alone. - If you're "cutting", "getting toned" or "bulking up" you should be able to incorporate a wide variety of foods into your diet. The key here is total calorie consumption and eating correct macronutrient ratios for your body ---- I love getting creative in the kitchen. I also love being able to enjoy the occasional burger date and meal out! See more

Here are my top tips for getting started on the right foot to set you up for long term success in the gym: . 1 At the start of your week schedule in your workouts like appointments and stick to them. If the only time you can go is the morning, make sure you set that alarm and just get up! If you're going after work, have a bag ...packed and get straight to the gym before going home! Otherwise once you get home and sit on the couch it's all over and we start making excuses 2 Don't go into the gym blind, have a plan. Whether you have a Program you're going to follow, you have a PT by your side or you're going to classes. 3 Set small goals. If your main focus is fatloss, and say you want to lose 30kg. Rather than fixating on that, focus on losing the first 5 and celebrate the win. Then the next 5 and the next... 4 They say it takes 21 days to form a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle. Today was our second session learning barbell squats and she's already squatting 2/3 of her bodyweight! I love seeing clients faces light up when they lift a heavy weight ... She is such a committed client and will do everything 110% every time. Well Done Farzana!

23.01.2022 HEALTHY RECIPE | Easy Chocolate Protein Balls Ingredients: 1 Scoop whey protein powder (vanilla usually works best, opt for chocolate to make it more chocolatey) 1/4 cup chia seeds... 4 TBS almond/peanut butter 3 TBS cacao or cocoa powder 1 TBS honey 1 TBS melted coconut oil (room temperature) 1/4 cup shredded coconut 1/2 Tsp vanilla extract Pinch of sea salt to taste Optional Mix Ins: Chocolate Chunks, Rolled Oats, Dates How To: Mix all ingredients together - by hand or with a food processor if handy (this will make a smoother mixture). Stir through any mix ins. Roll into balls. If you like, roll each ball in shredded coconut (optional). Leave in the fridge for a few hours so the balls can set. 18.01.2022 Sunday Back Workout Done Here’s 4 exercises from today that I love that you should give a try! Suitable for all fitness levels 1 3 Quarter Assisted Chin-Ups... Set a moderate weight on the assisted chin up machine, positioning your hands out wide. Working continuous reps (no stopping!!!) go 3/4 the way to the top and all the way to the bottom. Feel the burn A goodie to build strength if the bottom of the chin up is really hard for you! 3 x 15-20 reps 2 Single Arm Seated Cable Row Working unilateral adds an extra challenge and helps to even out any imbalances between your left and right sides. I always include single arm/leg exercises in my sessions to build individually and evenly . Select a light weight for this exercise, keep your traps down & shoulders back as you bring the weight in towards your body, squeezing your back. 3 x 12-15reps 3 TRX Bodyweight Pull-ups Set your suspension ropes to a height you can lie backwards with comfortably. The lower you go the harder you make this exercise. Keep your body straight with core engaged & pull yourself up squeezing your back. In this video I start with my hands inverted and rotate outwards as I pull in, do the reverse to make this move a little easier 3 x 12-15reps 4 Pendlay Rows One of my favourite compound exercises for the back which recruits muscles from the whole body. This movement is similar to a barbell row, however the weight much touch the ground with each rep ! Use bumper plates with the 20kg barbell as a start point (30kg) to work the correct height off the ground, alternatively place racks out off the squat rack to place the bar onto & lift a lighter weight. Keep your back straight & chest proud. 4 x 8-10reps Enjoy!!! C xx

This time of year always gets hectic, as the warmer weather tends to bring a big motivation boost to get your body in the best shape to enjoy the season Some Tips That You Can Start Doing Right Now To Help Lose That Extra Fluff Or Improve Your Health Are: 1 Base all your meals around a palm size...d portion of meat. Enjoy carbohydrates as a side serving, and include plenty of salad/veggies with each meal. 2 Limit creamy sauces, fast foods and anything deep fried as these are all very calorie heavy !!! 3 Do something every single day which gets your heart racing/makes you sweaty. Plan your workouts at the start of the week. On non-workout days plan additional exercise you can add in such as walks with the dog/friend, riding your bike to work, or a fun activity such as rock climbing! 4 Limit your alcohol consumption & or make better choices when drinking alcohol. 16.01.2022 Here’s a little back transformation of mine for you I thought I’d share! Taken at the exact same place with 2.5 years’ difference between them Photo on the left in 2015, I was in training for my first Bikini comp. Chin-ups were hard and I remember saying Take the photo already I can’t hold on much longer!. I had already added muscle from weight training in this photo, but I have nowhere near the back development that you can see in the photo on the right.... Me today, I’m roughly the same body fat % but I’m around 10kg heavier - yep all muscle! I have built a lot of width into my back, some may not like this and may prefer the first image but I am really proud of myself. In the time between photos 1 & 2 I have learnt extensively in how to train smart and effectively and how to eat (guilt free!!!) to fuel my body best for building muscle and staying lean. I implement these practices straight into my clients and they all achieve amazing results when following my nutrition and training This works whether you’re focusing on weight loss or building muscle. As I mentioned, these photos are over 2 years apart. It takes time, commitment, & consistency to build muscle. There are no shortcuts or overnight results! Wherever you’re at in YOUR journey keep at it girl

15.01.2022 Here’s a video which shows my favourite exercise to help you get that first chin-up! If you’re not far off but just can’t quite get that first rep... this will get you there! Here I am allowing a little jump to assist your way to the top, squeezing my back to contract whilst doing the jump. This will reduce the effort pulling yourself up! From the top take your time and very slowly lower yourself, focusing on that back contraction, squeezing the whole way down . A major pa...rt of the work in your muscles is done in the eccentric part (easy phase) of the exercise and this will help you build that extra strength to get you doing full chin ups on your own! Give this one a try, as many reps you can until failure each time!! Coach Chrissy x

09.01.2022 Here’s a great calorie comparison I found which compares the same amount of calories of processed/junk food against healthier and more nutritious options. I know which side I’d pick!!! Weight loss occurs in a calorie deficit.... Clearly it is FAR easier to eat in a deficit if you select your foods from the low energy density side. What do your calories comprise more of? Side A or B ??

07.01.2022 #MythBuster Using weights to target specific areas of our body to spot reduce fat. For example completing sets on the thigh machine and thinking "Bye bye fat on my inner thighs". There's A LOT of false info out there so it's easy to be mislead . ... Weight training will strengthen & build muscle giving more tone and definition to your target areas. Losing fat is done by nutrition. To lose fat you must be in a deficit of calories (Meaning - slightly less food going in than you are burning on a day to day basis). Cardio can be added as a tool to help you achieve a calorie deficit as you will be burning more calories. A holistic approach including both exercise and balanced nutrition is ALWAYS the only answer!
