18.01.2022 Since the first case of COVID-19 we have been physical distancing and social distancing which has resulted in behavioural changes such as substance abuse, domestic violence and abuse, feelings of loneliness and isolation, loss or employment and income, as well as a change of routines. They say you should never waste a crises so this might be the perfect opportunity to do a stocktake of your personal scaffolding. When was the last time you contacted family and friends? How c...an you anchor yourself into a community group, sporting club or business network? When was the last time you visited a health practitioner, counsellor, specialist? There is no shame in asking for help, in fact, it shows a level of courage and strength. #personalhealth #selfleadership #familyiseverything #community #health #mentalhealthmatters #specialists #ruok #lovethyself #lovethyneighbor
18.01.2022 2020 reminds me of a long road trip and the kids in the back seat asking are we there yet. There is nothing more frustrating as a driver hearing those words yet most people I speak to at the moment are either muttering those words to themselves or feeling some version of this phrase. What if you could make a small shift in your thoughts and ask yourself a different question...what could I salvage from the final weeks of 2020? or how do I set myself up for success in 20...21? or where do I want to be this time next year? Our thoughts have a real impact on our lives and on the lives around us. Have a great day! #positive #positivemindset #positivethinking #thoughts #thinking #coachyourself #leadyourself #goals #visionboard #mindset #beawesome #youaregreat #happythoughts #brisbanebusiness
18.01.2022 They say to speak it into existence but considering the power of your mind alone, the phrase might as well be updated to think it into existence and then speak it. Have a great week and reach for your goals. #mindset #think #mindsetiseverything #believe #positivemindset #thoughts #questions #coach #coaching #brisbanebusiness

15.01.2022 Triggers are more often than not a result of old patterns of reacting that we have accumulated from years of experience, upbringing and ways of protecting ourselves over time. There are 4 key categories of triggers: Competence: when someone is questioning your abilities or skills... Inclusion: when someone appears to be excluding you Autonomy: when someone appears to be trying to control you or keeping you from something you need Worthiness: when you perceive a challenge to your value as a human, partner, etc Write in the comments below when you were last triggered? And how did you react? Did you show strength, mastery, power or neither? #triggers #selfcontrol #changeyourhabits #coachingrevelations
14.01.2022 Having joy includes feeling good cheer and a vibrant happiness. But joy, in its fuller, spiritual meaning of expressing God's goodness, involves more. 14.01.2022 If we think of sporting teams for a moment, some look amazing on paper with champion players yet struggle to win championships while other teams have a bunch of ordinary players and succeed. Why is that? What factors are you seeing during this COVID season that increase the chances of team success? #leadership #success #teamwork #leadershipdevelopment #coach #motivation #management #teamculture #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #brisbanecoach #brisbanebusiness
13.01.2022 Robert Dilts recognised the importance of team leaders acting at multiple levels in order to successfully achieve change. When introducing change in an organisation, our first thought might be to focus activities on the lower levels (i.e. org chart, reporting lines, office location) because they are more visible. But change at these lower levels will not necessarily affect the higher levels. The higher levels are generally more invisible, harder to change and harder to asses...s because they address the thoughts and emotions of individuals. For lasting and sustainable change, we therefore need to consider the purpose of the team, what the new identity would look, feel, and sound like and what the values and beliefs would be to sustain the new purpose and identity. #change #leadingchange #leading #leadership #leaders #purpose #identity #vision #valuesandbeliefs #coach #coaching #businesscoach #brisbanebusiness #leadingteams

12.01.2022 Small steps, made each day, amount to a lot!! A client recently came to me needing coaching to help fulfill their 10 year dream. Each week for 10 years they desired a change but hadn’t made progress because they didn’t have all the answers. Answers such as: how to market their idea; how to find the right software to deliver the service; and, how to transition from one career to the next without losing or reducing their income. Through coaching they found tiny steps to advance... closer to their dream. The progress was exciting and contagious. It gave them confidence and a belief that their idea could one day be a reality. Through the art of coaching they are currently in the process of transitioning towards doing their dream job full time. It is not perfect but it is closer to becoming a reality than prior to coaching. Contact me if you need help moving forward with an idea!! #dreamsdocometrue #dreamjob #coachrevelations
12.01.2022 IQ takes second position to emotional intelligence (EQ) in determining outstanding job performance. Adding to this, Daniel Goleman who wrote the book, Working With Emotional Intelligence, quotes a study of what employers are looking for in entry-level workers, and specific technical skills are now less important than the underlying ability to learn on the job. After that employers listed: 1. Listening and oral communication... 2. Adaptability and creative responses to setbacks and obstacles 3. Personal management, confidence, motivation to work toward goals, a sense of wanting to develop one’s career and take pride in accomplishments 4. Group and interpersonal effectiveness, cooperative as and teamwork, skills and negotiating disagreements 5. Effectiveness in the organisation, wanting to make a contribution, leadership potential. If you are looking for an edge over your colleagues or competitors, continue to work on your listening skills. #listening #emotionalintelligence #emotionalintelligencecoach

10.01.2022 We all have the power to change and it usually starts with one or more of the following - our physical state; the story that we are telling ourselves; and/or our strategy, the how we plan to change. Over the years of coaching others to succeed, the most transformational change begins with changing our story. The inner dialogue, the questions we ask ourselves. Do you speak kind, affirming words to yourself or do you beat yourself up? If you are looking to change, can I ...invite you start focusing on changing your story today. If you need someone to keep you accountable, send me a message. I would love to help you succeed! Have a great day!
09.01.2022 Welcome to Wednesday friends. Some of you will be seeing today as Hump Day and dragging yourself out of bed and off to work while others have already been to the gym, meditated for 30 minutes and prepared tonights home cooked meal. Why is that? How can two people have two different approaches to Wednesday? ... From my perspective, it is their thoughts and mindsets. One has a reactive, negative approach to their day and the other has a proactive, positive approach to their day. How are you approaching today and are you happy with the results your are getting? Message us if you could benefit from having a coach to change your approach. #wellness #wellbeing #mentalhealth #selfcare #mindfulness #work #people #coach #businesscoach #mindsetmatters #change #coaching #brisbanebusiness
09.01.2022 John Kotters 8 Step Change Model is a popular framework for successfully implementing organisational change, and is used across many industries. It was introduced in his book Leading Change which was based on years of research that revealed there is only a 30% chance of successful implementation of organisational change. Change can come as new technologies, mergers, and acquisitions, new strategies, cultural transformation, new leadership, etc. He suggests that 75% of the ...organisation needs to have bought into the change for it to get traction and the 8 Steps are as follows: 1. Create urgency, the big reasons, identify the threats and would /could potentially happen in the future. what it will mean to the organisation and the individuals. 2. Form a powerful coalition: Identify the leaders that are on board and are able to influence. Coach this team and skill them for the work ahead and there will be a lot of it. 3. Create the vision for change: Where do you want to be? How will you make decisions to ensure there is consistency of decisions? Define the values and behaviours. 4. Communicate the vision: Give a compelling reason for moving forward. Have a communication plan that is consistent with the vision. Then ensure you lead by example, make the difficult decisions and show incremental wins. 5. Remove Obstacles: If it is not adding to the end result remove it. Anything, that does not get you closer to the vision and mission is taking you away from it. Remove obstacles and reward people for doing so. 6. Create short term wins: This will keep the detractors from sabotaging your progress in the change. Show the team that you are making progress to the goal. quick wins are important. Look at tasks in the project that will demonstrate the quick wins. 7. Build on the change: Keep a lessons learned log, so that you do not repeat the same errors in the workplace. this will increase the learning organisations capability and your team. 8. Anchor the change in corporate culture: Reinforce the change, and refer to the wins and how you won. This should become part of your corporate identity. Recognition programs are useful. #change #teamculture #changemanage

08.01.2022 One of my clients met with me prior to Christmas and said they wanted to resign from their job due to a toxic workplace culture. They mentioned betrayal of trust; blame and finger pointing; accusations; excuses; endless office drama and politics; lying; stealing; and the list went on... The sad fact was, the boss couldn’t see the behaviours were the outcome of their own poor leadership and continued to blame staff and the difficulty finding good people! In this instance, th...e boss/ leader could benefit from one or more of the following actions: - step up, be courageous, and learn how to lead people. Don’t tell or dictate. - Be vulnerable, admit fault, and build trust. - Develop with the team clear expectations around values, behaviours and attitudes and invite the team to hold one another accountable. - recognize and reward staff for a job well done. If you are in a similar position as my client and not enjoying your workplace, find a culture that aligns with your values. #newyearnewjob

03.01.2022 Developing trust with a colleague, stakeholder, client or friend takes time but it also has 4 key dimensions. I can trust someone’s credibility (I.e. their content or their words) but I don’t trust their motives or their self-orientation. I can trust their reliability but I don’t feel comfortable around them (intimacy or emotions). The honest truth is Trust requires us to do all 4 elements well. ... 03.01.2022 One of the most powerful benefits of diversity is diversity of thought. To stay competitive and relevant, great organisations must constantly self-examine, improve, grow, and evolve.
