25.01.2022 Think back to the last time you received a compliment and the last time you were criticized. No doubt, when you received the compliment, you felt good and whe...n you received the criticism, you felt upset and wanted to reject it. You shouldnt be surprised by your reaction to the negative comment, as its a humans survival mechanism to avoid being criticized. Clearly, we dont want to be seen as failures, so wed rather shut our eyes and cover our ears than have to take any criticisms from others. However, theres a serious problem with this approach. Namely, by doing our utmost to avoid being criticized, we allow ourselves to travel on a never-ending highway of mediocrity. Without receiving negative feedback and criticisms from others, our growth and opportunities become stunted. And in the long term, were not only liable to fail but to fail badly.

25.01.2022 We can not change our abusers. We can not change the past. We CAN change ourselves. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Thank you, Dr. Frankl, for your input, ideas and proof that I am responsible for my own world, for my reality. I have a choice about how I respond, I have a choice to create my attitude. And you do, too! You have escaped abuse, but are you a survivor or still a victim? The choice is yours. #choice #victorfrankl #victorfranklquotes #quotes #challange #direction #attitude #growth #survivor #survival

21.01.2022 Simple ideas to change a habit. How you increase the odds a behavior change will be performed and repeated: 1- make it obvious 2-make it attractive 3-make it easy... 4- make it satisfying Great book if you want to understand the process and principles for changing a habit.

20.01.2022 If you only read one book on a topic and use that as the basis for your beliefs for an entire category of life, how sound are those beliefs? How accurate and complete is your knowledge?- James Clear #jamesclear #quotes #habits #book #believe #beliefs #limitingbeliefs

20.01.2022 Switch, by chip & dan Heath, is one of the best practical books Ive read on understanding the mechanics of behavioral and habit change. To address the problem, they focus on the three driving forces behind behavior change: the rational side, the emotional side and the environment in which the change is supposed to take place. Each real life story in the book explores how habit change was possible using the analogy of your brain as a rational rider trying to direct an emotio...nal resistant elephant. Based on a previous idea introduced by Jonathan Haidt in his book The Happiness Hypothesis, the Heath brothers craft a great book that makes it easier to understand how your minds rational and emotional side work together. To change a habit or behavior you have to direct the rider, motivate the elephant and shape the path. #switch #bookreview #chipheathanddanheath #books #selfhelp #behaviour #behaviourchange #habits

18.01.2022 The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness. Abraham Maslow

18.01.2022 Your past, no matter how bad it was, does not define your future. The choices and actions you make today will ultimately define who you will eventually become. Make the decision to learn from your past and apply it in the present so that you can live the life that you were meant to live. Whenever you take yourself out of the present and become emotionally distracted, you react to the world around you and allow your circumstances to run your life. In this state, you limit your power and potential to create the life youd love.

18.01.2022 Exercise is a vital part of fitness, however there is this mis-conception around workouts and losing weight. Someone at the gym recently asked my advise around weight loss. With gyms shut for a long period of time and working from home he has found lack of movement and bad eating habits are causing him to stack the weight on. Hes ramped up the training to get back on track, but nothing is changing. As a personal trainer with 17 years experience, Im here to tell you a real...ity. what you eat , and how much, has the biggest impact on weight loss. Unless you can run a marathon each day it will be hard to see changes from exercise alone. Tip 1 is a great starting point to get back on track. Also, limit the amount of food you buy at one time. Good luck!

17.01.2022 Do you have a lot of reading to do? Or Do you simply just want to read at a faster rate, whether it be for your own personal reasons, or for work? In this blog, well look at the skill of speed reading, and explore a technique that is universally recognized as the number 1 way you can start to read faster.... Most people read at an average rate of 200-250 words per minute (wpm), though some are naturally quicker than others. The untrained subject engages in regression (conscious rereading) and back-skipping (subconscious rereading via misplacement of fixation) for up to 30% of total reading time. Regression, and back-skipping, can be minimized. Found out how by watching the video. #speedreading #booklover #reading #readingcommunity #concentration #focus #attention

15.01.2022 When you see & judge the present moment through the eyes of the past you get a distorted view of it

14.01.2022 If you have ever had a one-sided conversation you probably have experienced the feeling that the other person really didnt care about you, they cared more about telling you about themselves and what has happened or is happening to them now. No matter what topic you bring up, instead of listening and asking questions, they immediately try and talk about a similar situation in their own life, or they try to center the discussion back on to their own story. Now sometimes this i...s OK when we are seeking guidance or advice. And it is even better when that person shows a genuine interest in us or helping us to move past a problem. "People dont care how much you know, until they know how much you care ... about them." So the next time you find yourself in a meeting, on a call, in a discussion, try committing to listening, asking questions, being curious enough to show that you really do care about them personally. By doing this you will demonstrate a greater sense of genuine sincerity. So how about you? Do you enjoy talking more about yourself and the things that are important to you? Or have you figured out that the best way to show how much you know is to show how much you care? #listening #caring #sincerity #quotes #action #compassion

10.01.2022 What does that mean? Everybody has problems. Thats a fact. Some problems are tougher than others, others are easy. Some are worse to have, and some problems are not so bad. But identifying that you have a problem is only the very first step in taking are of it. All you have at this point is something about which you can complain. Loudly and frequently.... Unfortunately, thats exactly what far too many people do. They identify whats wrong, and then complain about it, expecting someone else to take care of it for them. Thats where the second half of the quote comes in. Dont put your effort into complaining, put it into finding and then implementing a solution. #anthonyrobbins #quotes #problems #solutions #mindset #challenge #anthonyrobbinsquote
