23.01.2022 I love strength training because the barbell never lies. You either did the work to be able to pick up the bar, or you didn’t. The barbell doesn’t care if you’re stressed, tired or hungover. The barbell doesn’t care about your big work projects, uni assignments or any other excuse/reason you have for not training, no matter how valid these reasons are.... The barbell only cares about whether or not you did the work, consistently. About whether or not you kept showing up, despite any challenges and obstacles thrown your way. If you want a certain result with the barbell, or your training/body composition/finances/mindset/life, you MUST be willing to give up your reasons. You cannot have both reasons AND results. It’s impossible. A LOT of people have A LOT of reasons for not committing to a training program. Half of these people could probably train 5 days per week for 4-8 weeks. Very few could do it consistently for 6+ months. This isn’t about blame or shame. It’s completely normal to have reasons. Shit happens, things come up, life gets in the way. It’s not about beating yourself up. It’s about creating some self awareness to reflect on your daily actions and habits, to notice what you’re committed to, and to see where you might be getting in your own way. Questions to ask yourself: - What are you currently prioritising? - Is this behaviour moving you toward or away from the person you’re trying to become? - What reasons are coming up for you lately? - How are you going to solve for these reasons, so they can stop holding you back? Hint: if you are willing to give up your reasons, the only thing left for you to have is the result SO... do you want to keep holding on to all the reasons you can’t have what you want? OR... do you want to stop doing that & go get what you want? It’s your choice Ps. Here’s me, doing the work. You should join.

19.01.2022 This year I’ve made a few decisions I’m really proud of. - I decided to love myself no matter what, even when I fuck up - I decided to go for a HD on every uni assignment - I signed up for 2x developmental courses & am crushing them - I started working at 2x new jobs with incredible cultures - I’m drinking less alcohol... - I’m in control of my finances - My Resting Heat Rate has decreased - I’ve lost 6kg - I’m enforcing my boundaries - I’m reading more - I’m getting more sleep - I’ve fully rehabbed an injury - I’ve hit running PB’s - I’ve removed all negative relationships from my life - If it’s not a ‘fuck yes’, it’s a no. - I got myself a new absolute boss of a mentor - I decided to feel good and thrive, regardless of my external circumstances - I decided I am worthy of my goals I haven’t been able to do these things because I’m ‘lucky’ or ‘things are just easier for me’. I am also experiencing the worldwide pandemic we are in Before this year started, I said to myself: I am going to crush 2020 - so that’s what I’m doing. I can’t control a lot of the current external circumstances. I CAN control all of the above. I made the decision no matter what and I’m sticking to it. We can’t have both excuses and results. You can ONLY have one or the other. I’m making the decision, daily, to give up my excuses for why I don’t have what I want. Then I’m fearlessly going after what I want. Are you choosing excuses, or are you choosing results? It’s. Your. Choice. If you want a different life for yourself, make the decision, raise your standards and go get it.

16.01.2022 Yes, the lockdown sucks. I’m all for looking at the positives, learnings & resilience we gain from going through tough situations, and.. covid still sucks. I heard a stat today that 76 people have committed suicide each week in Australia across the last 4 months. Research is 2 years off confirming exact numbers of the impact of covid on people’s mental health, but 76 people per week since March have chosen to take their lives. Beyond Blue have had a 40% increase in incoming ...calls since then too. That’s nearly 1,000 people (and counting) who haven’t had the capacity & mental tools to be able to pull themselves through or see a way out of the current situation I have worked with hundreds of clients & coaches over the last few years in helping them regain control of their health habits, and their life. What I’ve noticed is: knowing is very different to doing. So many people I speak to ‘know they should be eating better’ or ‘know they should be getting more sleep’ or ‘know that exercising consistently makes them feel better’ - yet they aren’t doing it. (I’ll be the first to admit- I do this too sometimes!!) The reason it’s so important to ACTUALLY follow through with these habits, is they build self-respect. They build self-esteem. They build integrity, grit, discipline, consistency, resilience, commitment, mental toughness & THEY BUILD SELF-WORTH. (Plus all the physical health benefits we get from them too!!) If we can do small things DAILY, that make us feel good & build our self-worth, we are actively taking back control of our lives and our mindset. If you, or someone close to you feels like your mental health is declining right now: 1. Please seek help, don’t wait. 2. Write down a list of things that make you feel good AND COMMIT TO DOING SOMETHING FROM THAT LIST DAILY If you aren’t currently doing anything FOR YOU, to actively BUILD your mental health & self-worth, then please take this as a sign to GO AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT right now. Don’t tell me you know you should - instead, just go do it YOU are the only person responsible for your happiness & mental well-being. Please do something about it

13.01.2022 ‘You can either take control of your situation and make the most of this unique opportunity to thrive throughout the lockdown period, OR just ‘hope’ that you’ll have the motivation everyday over the next 6 weeks to do it on your own.’ NB: it’s way more fun if you have us helping you Come train with us. We can help you change your life trajectory*... *you must be willing to put in the work.. or, allegedly.. nothing will change. Check out @insideoutgrouptraining or DM me for details.
