21.01.2022 On this day two years ago I had been in a funk for longer than I cared to admit. I was edging towards 35 (I don’t like half birthdays), and it was rough. I felt like I should have been more. Healthier. Fitter. Happier. Wealthier. Successful. Just more. I’d been feeling that I wasn’t enough. For my friends, my clients, my family. I’d always wanted to be more. On this day two years ago I cleared my diary. I jumped in my 1974 Beetle, named Jolene, and just drove. (I miss her,... she'll be back next year). I drove the hour and a half, windows down, singing along to loud music at the top of my lungs. I ended up at Coogee Beach, my old stomping grounds from my 20s. I went to McIver’s Ladies Baths, a place I’d never been to before, and swam naked, alone, in the cool ocean water. I remember absolutely sobbing when I got out. I felt freedom, relief, vulnerability I allowed myself to think about what I wanted, what I had, where I wanted to be, and who I wanted to be. But mostly what I needed to do to get there. What I didn’t talk about at the time was what exactly that meant. I wanted to fall pregnant, and I was terrified that I wasn’t able to. I was so scared I’d left it too late. Once you turn 35 you’re of advanced maternal age. I was right there, on the cusp of that. And not by choice. I was in a place where I wasn’t comfortable, going through an abusive friendship, felt voiceless, taken advantage of, and ignored. And I wasn’t happy. I was in a funk, and I needed to change it up. Jumping in that water changed me. I made the decision to change my life that day. Everything I was unhappy with. And I did. I blew my life up. You know what? I fell pregnant a few weeks later. Now my entire life is dedicated to keeping myself in that mindset. To teach my daughter that she is enough. That if she wants to be more, then she should want it for herself, not for other people. And to teach my clients and friends that they can do, be, and have anything they want. But most of all, to help them find their voice, their strength, their health, and their happiness. Much love. <3

21.01.2022 "Yeah, it will be ok Do nothing today Give yourself a break Let your imagination run away" .... Sia - Sunday . What was your Sunday like? Was it restful? Productive? Did you get everything you wanted to do done? (Yes, rest counts as something you wanted to do!) . I was talking to a client earlier today who was meal prepping for the week ahead, and she said how she doesn't know if she'll have the strength to do it again next week. That doing it all in one go took so much energy and time, and it was a struggle. . We had a bit of a chat about this, and I reminded her that like everything else in life, everything doesn't have to be done all in one go. You don't have to change everything about your lifestyle if you want to start to work on your fitness. That's a sure-fire way to put it in the too hard basket and not continue. . Small changes create big changes. Systems create results. Not everything has to be done at once. Do bits and pieces every day. If you want to meal prep for a week, then don't do it all on Sunday. Prep the lunches on Sunday. Prep the snacks on Tuesday. Prep the dinner stuff every second day. Prep your breakfast the night before. The work will be done, and you'll have created a sustainable routine. One that doesn't take a large chunk of time and energy. See more

07.01.2022 Your body is the environment which your baby will grow. Everything your body experiences, your baby experiences. The exercise, the nutrition, the self care, the stress. You want to try to keep it as strong and healthy as possible. So what if you don’t think you are strong, or healthy? What if your nutrition has been more focused towards ease of purchase than towards healthy and delicious. And what if haven’t already been exercising? Is it too late to start taking care of your... body? Are you a lost cause? Absolutely not! Your current health and fitness level is indeed important, but if you’re starting from scratch, or further back than that,] then that’s completely ok. If you’re thinking about starting to try to conceive, then that’s an excellent time to start. Training when you are trying to conceive sets a foundation for great health during pregnancy and beyond. If you’re already pregnant, then you can definitely do some great things for your body. It’s important to work on specific areas of your body in order to make pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum easier. Your posture and alignment, your strength and lean muscle mass, core and pelvic floor, to develop a strong aerobic foundation, and try to maintain healthy levels of body fat. These will all have a beneficial impact on your health and fitness. It’s also best to go forth with a plan, and to honour your body. If you do want to work on your health and fitness during pregnancy, then please consider seeing someone who understands what you need. Someone who understands what your body is going through, but most importantly, someone who is knowledgeable and qualified in the area of women’s fitness that you need. Motherhood is a marathon, not a sprint. If you need someone there for the long haul with you, please, reach out.
