15.01.2022 Very blessed to work with such great people! Easily the toughest year the majority of us have ever had and the support was unquestionable. #PurplePride #AnytimeFitness

13.01.2022 If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you. Zig Ziglar My team are probably sick of me hassling them about personal development. It’s the one thing I wish I spent more time doing in my first two years as a personal trainer. The more you learn, the less you realise you know.

12.01.2022 If you get 1% better every single day for a year, you’ll be 37x better than you were when you started. Let that sink in.

06.01.2022 How easy is it to beat up on yourself when you have a shitty day or week. We are our harshest critics. Often people beat themselves up for having a bad weekend, but remember that’s only 28% of the week. What about the other 72%? If you can nail your training and nutrition for 72% of your life, you’ve done a pretty fucking top job I reckon. Here’s to the pat on the back that you should give yourself more often. Celebrate the wins. Don’t focus all your energy on the losses. They’ll happen too. But if you’re having 3 x the wins, you’ll be where you need to be in time.

06.01.2022 Confirmation bias: The tendency to process information by looking for, or interpreting, information that is consistent with one's existing beliefs. The fitness industry is rife with confirmation bias, especially in the coaching realm. You’ve just got to be clued up enough to recognise it & search for more information. Ever a coincidence that a vegan PT turns all clients vegan? Or the PT who does intermittent fasting and got lean, then miraculously has all their clients doing... intermittent fasting. Or what about when someone gets amazing results by only doing fasted cardio and then coincidentally finds all of this research supporting fasted cardio. This happens due to the coach following all of the supportive information to confirm their beliefs, whilst ignoring any information that may not support it. News flash: If you look hard enough, you’ll be able to find research/information that confirms all your biases. We are wired to try and find them to confirm that we are on the right track. It’s natural. I’m not saying that you should never believe anyone. But what I am saying is that you should be doing your due diligence to ensure that the information you’re receiving is suitable for you & not just following your coach’s existing beliefs. A healthy mind is an inquisitive mind.
