21.01.2022 Warm Up/Pass & Move Activity Set Up: Make 2 rectangles, being the one on the outside bigger than the one on the inside in the middle of the court/field. Make another set if too many players.... 4 players on the outside of the bigger rectangle (1 on each side) without a ball and 4 players inside the smaller rectangle with a ball each moving freely. Development: Players on the inside of the smaller rectangle begin dribbling the ball and looking for a player on the outside of the bigger rectangle to pass the ball to. They cannot pass the ball to a player that already has one (looking up/peripheral vision). They cannot receive the ball from the same player that they’ve just passed it to (forcing them to instinctivelypass and move looking for another source to receive the ball from). Swap groups over every few minutes. Possible Variations: Limit the number of touches a player can have before delivering a pass. Only allow passes with non-dominant foot. Introduce a special skill, like step-overs, to be executed before each pass. Make it a competition, for example, Let’s see who can deliver the most successful passes within 2 minutes! Add a defender, or 2 or 3 depending on the level of your group. If a defender wins the ball and successfully delivers a pass, he is then attacking and the player who’s lost the ball becomes the new defender. 10.01.2022 5 Defensive Principles in Futsal. 1) Stabilisation: Relates to the positioning of attacking players once the ball is lost and to give them the best opportunity to recover possession quickly and to prevent a quick attacking transition that may result in a goal being scored against them.... 2) Delay: Relates to the movement executed by a player against an opponent in possession of the ball, with the direct objective of delaying the attack, allowing the defence to return and reorganise itself. 3) Return: Relates to the steps taken in order to fall back as soon as possible, either behind the imaginary line of the ball or into a zone that allows the team to be able to organise their defence in more appropriate manner. 4) Organisation: Relates to the movements performed and positioning of players after getting back, in a way that they can organise and structure a well balanced and positional defence, according with each specific tactical scenario presented to them. 5) Positional Defence: Relates to the defensive movements executed with individual and team actions once they are all organised in their positions to prevent the attacking players from advancing and to retrieve possession.
