24.01.2022 The tank is in and waiting to be connected. Now we wait... Just a heads up. While this may look like a big arse tank (it is!); due to our location, CVEC will be entirely tank dependent with NO town supply. Which of course leaves us dependent on that wet stuff that falls (very) occasionally from the sky (we are the driest catchment in Tassie...) This water we catch will be required to create and maintain the pool under the ebb and flow surface; as well as run the ame...nities as a priority. While wash bays are provided, we will be asking and reminding users to consider the use of water as the precious resource it is and leave the full show preps for home. Washbay grey water is also being caught and recycled for the garden. Smart water usage by everyone will then allow us to concentrate water use on the surfaces. This will be of benefit to everyone, and also keep our much needed irrigation rights for the hay paddocks which keeps my ponies happy! Sound fair folks? Waste not, want not

23.01.2022 Australian access standards obviously apply for blind puppy dogs as well

22.01.2022 Exactly 12 months ago to the day. We were waiting for the final permit to come through before we broke ground. The old hay barn and shearing shed were still in place. A lot has changed!!!

21.01.2022 Apparently we have also installed a pool @cvectas #equinearchitecture #ridernecessities #roofleaking

21.01.2022 The mirrors are up

21.01.2022 And from the outside showing the vents

19.01.2022 We are a bit difficult to see from the road, so thankyou to one of our friends who sent me these pics of CVEC from the air. #justalittleshed

19.01.2022 Not ready yet unfortunately. All things going well, we have our game plan of opening to the public in approximately October. We will keep everyone updated once we actually know how long things will take

18.01.2022 And onto the next stage. Lots and lots and lots of dirt... Driveways, parking, outdoor arena and a grass working area yet to be constructed #promisewewillfinishoneday

18.01.2022 Just to add to the tank collection, the fire tanks have been installed today as part of TFS requirements. These are obviously reserved for fire use only and not available for everyday usage no matter how tempting they might seem!

16.01.2022 A closer look at the kickboards. The arena safety wall is made of recycled plastic. It is super resilient to whatever horses throw at it, has a bit of give, doesnt rot, and bonus of recycling plastic waste! We saw these installed elsewhere with glowing reviews so we just had to do the same. Also super happy with the colour selection of grey rather then black. Still half of the arena to do though! #equinearcitecture #cvectas

16.01.2022 Busy day! What do you do when you need to protect against the roaring 40s in the Coal Valley, but you have an awesome view? You put in opening doors The counterbalanced bifold doors have been one of the jewels in the project. They open upwards and can be opened for ventilation on warm days or closed when those valley winds try to blow us out of the saddle. There are 6 opening doors in total, 2 of which are full height to provide in/out gates to the arena for events. #equinearchitecture #roaring40s #coalvalleywindprotection

15.01.2022 And we lift.... #cvectas #equinearchitecture

13.01.2022 CVEC is now Insta-ready! @cvectas #CVEC #slowbuild #equinearchitecture #indoorarena #endoftherainbow

13.01.2022 Its still all systems go at CVEC currently. With all the uncertainty around the covid-19 crisis, we have been very lucky that we have not been impacted greatly other then some new distancing and hygiene procedures. Being such a large site, thats been pretty easy to cater for which is very reassuring to not have any employment here impacted so far. Still lots of detail to do, but as most of the structure is in place, thankfully we arent waiting on too many things to turn up onsite.

12.01.2022 The wash bays and tie ups have had the roof added. Somewhere to get ready out of the wind and rain (with lights!) Water from the wash bays will then be recycled back onto the garden. Now if only it actually would rain down here.....

11.01.2022 Testing out the heaters in the multipurpose viewing room. Such a handy room that can be used for meetings, administration, education, sponsors or just keeping warm! #cvectas #equinearchitecture

11.01.2022 Well the last week has been all systems go for the surface. Weve had Peter Rocca and Mark and Roz from DoWell Equine all down from NSW to install the Ebb and Flow arena with soiltex surface. With the added help from local ebb and flow arena builder Tony Jones. Still a long way to go before we open, but certainly a major piece of the puzzle has been laid. Thanks guys for all your hard work! Btw; Peter is still around town if anyone wants arenas groomed and maintained. Hes done an awesome job on my home arena this morning. No more deep corners!!!!

09.01.2022 Lights on The view from the lounge and kitchen to make sure you dont miss the action while socialising but riders arent distracted by the cheer #cvectas #equinearchitecture

08.01.2022 The guys have been busy hanging from the ceiling this week installing the LED lights. With quite a few of these lights installed, CVEC can well cater for safe jumping at night without dangerous shadows

08.01.2022 The final concrete pour for the terraced seating has been poured giving a built in, no set up required option for spectators. Of course there is still plenty of room for alternative, more comfortable seating

07.01.2022 We hope that everyone has had a Merry Christmas and will have a safe and happy New Years. We were going to take some progress photos to end the year on...but then managed to come across a drone for something much better What a year it has been. How many people does it take to build an indoor??? Well weve lost count! The year has gone by with planning meetings, engineers reports, agronomist reports, more engineers reports, plumbers reports, fire reports, electrical rep...orts and builders meetings. But we are making progress and hope you enjoy this update. Bring on 2020 and hopefully a CVEC opening party. We cant wait

06.01.2022 Let there be light #equinearchitecture #indoorarenabuild #tasmanianequestrian #cvectas

06.01.2022 The amenities are now starting to get added and take shape. These are separated from the arena with a foyer area, but with a perfectly good view of what is going on. Still a long way to go... What can you seeing yourself doing at CVEC?

06.01.2022 We have been pretty excited about this link road opening! This improves the drive from most Hobart suburbs to CVEC You can now come straight through from the Tasman Hwy from the Cambridge/Acton roundabout and not deal with school zones and the busy shop intersection while towing the horse float.

05.01.2022 I thought I would provide a little update on where were currently at . Still lots of things to finish off before the external ground works start happening. One day we will be finished...

03.01.2022 Tonights sneak peak at the lounge space and kitchen/canteen area. Nearly ready for whatever event you can dream up #cvectas #equinearchitecture
