14.01.2022 This week it has been brought to our attention, that a person that has been involved with our club and a spokesperson and ambassador has made remarks and expressed opinions that very much DO NOT align with our align with the intentions and core values that we as a club pride ourselves on. Coal City Strongman does not stand for any denigration of any person for their size, gender, religion, sexual preferences or physical appearance, what so ever. We feel that behaviour such ...as this is toxic and has absolutely no place in this sport. At it's core, strongman is about pitting yourself against a challenge. That challenge could not give a fuck about how you look, what you weigh, if you're ripped or chubby. If you move it, you move it and the fact you tried is what we respect most. We are about positivity and pushing those who are involved with us, to challenge themselves, dotting they never knew their bodies were capable of and have huge amounts of fun, stepping outside their comfort zone and taking on the challenges this sport has to offer. If you have experienced this negativity at an event of ours or from someone who has spoken on behalf of our club in the past, or have been made to feel uncomfortable in other gyms/clubs, please know that we will slways do what we can to offer an encouraging, inclusive environment to lift and welcome every opportunity to help you enjoy strongman. 09.01.2022 That wraps up our events for a crazy 2020. #coalcitysstrongest2020 was easily the biggest comp we have run and we couldn't be happier with how the day went and every athlete's performance and attitude throughout the day! We thank you all for supporting our little club and building the sport we all love! To our helpers, scorers and loaders, you guys were amazing and we can't begin to thank you enough. Reece, Brice, Jack, Mel, Josh, Mickey, Luke, Rachel, Aims, Brooke, Angie, N...at, Daniel, Hilary and Red, you guys were amazing! I saw a comment in a group message last night from Reece, saying he burnt through 6447cal yesterday! That just shows how hard your helpers work loading and unloading for you guys as athlete's!
