24.01.2022 Santa comes to Coalcliff Nippers
22.01.2022 NIPPERS cancelled for tomorrow Sunday 25 October. Due to particularly bad weather forecast for Sunday we have taken the decision to cancel nippers this fortnight. In these conditions we also cannot guarantee a Covid-safe environment. Apologies, but we do want to keep all our nippers and families safe.... For those that still need to register please try and do it online, or we can assist at our next nippers session on 8 November. Kind Regards, nippers crew PS - forecast is for 10ft swell, 6-7ft waves and over 40km winds.
22.01.2022 Hi nippers and families, I’m afraid we will be cancelling the rest of the nippers season. We have had a lot of fun and the nippers have put in a lot of effort. We won’t be having a presentation either but we are looking at options to celebrate everyone’s commitment to the season and those that have performed well in their age groups. We will come back with more details. We do look forward to next season and the country returning to some normality and stability. Thanks and regards from the nippers team!

21.01.2022 The nippers crew really look forward to the new season. A few things for you to consider ahead of our orientation day on 11 October. * please register and pay online (https://members.sls.com.au/SLSA_MembersO//join/member-join). The fee is $75 for Nippers or $145 per Family * Amount payable is also on the previous Facebook post or when you click ‘make payment’ through the SLSC website. * The nippers start and finish times are 9.30am to around 11am, depending on conditio...ns and activities that we can complete. Please consider arriving from 9.15am to get yourselves sorted and hear the pre-nippers briefing * If you would like clothing etc please arrive from 8:45/9am. Prices will be attached to this post * We will have a COVID safe environment, which means: * Maintain a 1.5m distance with non-family members * Unfortunately, we will not be able to host a post nippers bbq * We will have hand sanitiser stations available A reminder that we rely on parents and guardians to provide assistance throughout the season as age managers, and generally helping out. Thank you for those that have stepped up in previous years, and hopefully we will have a good crew this year. Based on current advice SLSC have also recommended that families do not stay around after nippers. We will update as I formation becomes available throughout the season. Kind regards

20.01.2022 Attention all nippers parents and guardians! We have heard from some of the elves that Santa will be visiting nippers next Sunday! NOTE for parents and guardians:... - You need to remember to bring a wrapped gift for your children. - You will be handing out presents on the day to maintain a COVID safe environment. Santa will not be able to hand out like he normally does (or mrs claus has done in the past). These will be special presents that Santa delivered during the week for parents and guardians to give to children for him on Sunday. - Santa will come to Coalcliff on the JetSki and photos can be taken, with Santa standing behind the ski and the children standing in front to be Covid safe. - there will be no raffle this year I’m sure we will all still have fun with the changes above! Cheers, from the nippers team

05.01.2022 I received this message today. Well done Coalcliff SLSC. Hi Rob... I am a volunteer with the Sydney Wildife Mobile Care Unit. We received a wonderful donation yesterday from SPAT & Coalcliff SLSC and I have been trying to track down the origins of such kindness! I see you held a concert for bushfire relief in March? I seem to remember you guys had us in mind as the beneficiaries of that fund-raiser? Things were all a blur for the first 3 months of the year as we were running about in the fire grounds rescuing animals ‘til 3am some days! Thank you, from the very depths of our hearts for your incredible generosity I shall send you some photos so you can see the results of your amazing fundraising efforts. Warmest regards Lynleigh Sydney Wildlife Rescue

Send it into the Coalcliff SLSC Inbox and we will release one a week to help keep our wonderful little community together through this socially distant winter. *QUESTIONS* 1) When did you or your family join the club? 2) What is your favourite aspect of Coalcliff SLSC? 3) How is your family dealing with the lockdown (any games, activities or coping mechanisms to share)? Optional) Current TP supply level

02.01.2022 Hello Surf Life Savers! I know we’re all bummed about the recent beach closures and total disappearance of toilet paper from shops, so I put together a few tips to help you through the isolation! *Go outside as much as possible and as early in the day as you can manage. Drink your coffee on the porch. Go for a walk down your street or take your dog to an open area. Getting outside earlier in the day helps minimise the disruptions to our normal sleep-wake cycle.... *Keep up your activity levels. Walk your dog; go for a run; complete a round of basic body weight exercises! Break up your Netflix episodes with 10 sit ups, push ups, squats, etc. Keeping active helps protect against significant changes in mood and sleeping habits. *Do something enjoyable that you’re usually too busy for. Take a bath, play video games/board games, read something for fun. See what you put on your Netflix list a year ago and forgot about. Learn a new skill- knit, juggle, throw darts, whatever you like! *Keep connected digitally. Ring your relatives and see how they’re doing. Text a random question to your friends each day. (Most embarrassing primary school moment? Grossest thing you’ve ever eaten?) And don’t forget to keep in touch with your friends at Coalcliff SLSC. The club committee will be working on keeping our website and social media channels active so jump on and say hello! It may seem silly in a time like this, but try to think of 3 things each day you’re grateful for. It’s weirdly effective. *Keep an eye on your alcohol consumption. It can creep up in times like this but is more likely to negatively affect your mood and sleep during periods of decreased social connection. Same goes for social media. It tends to make us feel more isolated even at the best of times, and constantly watching the spread of disease and closures can be mentally draining. *Manage your media consumption. While it’s good to stay informed, be careful not to take in too much news each day. *Keep perspective. When you’re struggling with the isolation, remember why we’re doing this. By staying home for a while we can help to protect the most vulnerable in our community and reduce the spread in Australia. The TL;DR version is this: Establish some kind of new routine that includes going outside, physical activity, talking to other people. Remember that this is temporary and that by looking out for each other from a distance, we will get through it better! If you notice yourself or someone else is struggling, reach out!! Mollie is still here to answer questions and help however she can!
