20.01.2022 5 things you might not know about sheep! 1. Would you baaa-lieve that sheep have very good memories? They can remember at least 50 individual sheep and humans... for years. They do this by using a similar neural process and part of the brain that humans use to remember. 2. Sheep have been shown to display emotions, some of which can be studied by observing the position of their ears. 3. Sheep are extremely intelligent and they are capable of problem-solving. They are nearly as clever as pigs! 4. Sheep have been known to self-medicate when they have some illnesses and will eat specific plants that can cure them. 5. Female sheep are very caring mothers forming deep bonds with their lambs. They can recognise them by their call when they wander too far away. Do you know any fun facts about sheep? 14.01.2022 New Guinea fowl keets welcomed to the farm tonight by the ever hospitable #tommythesheepdog. They are 14 weeks old and will play a valuable role in controlling insects and slugs in our garden and perhaps warding off the odd snake or two. Guinea fowl eggs are higher in protein than regular chicken eggs as they are thicker with more yolk than egg white. #guineafowlofinstagram #keetsofinstagram #backyardpoultry #farmlife #farmdoglife #coalrivervalleylamb #crvlamb

12.01.2022 Unfortunately this little fella was left by his mum, but he has been well looked after since by his big brother #tommythesheepdog. We’ve decided to call him Socks because he has very furry legs. Tommy and #socksthesheep have even gone on holidays together this week up the East Coast. #farmlife #farmdoglife #lambsofinstagram
