06.01.2022 We are incredibly excited to announce the Adelaide Festival, with Artistic Directors Neil Armfield AO and Rachel Healy, has commissioned CO-AP to design the new Adelaide Festival Club The Summerhouse - a temporary pavilion for events during the 2021, 2022 and 2023 festivals. Situated on Kaurna Country along the banks of Karrawirra Pari (Torrens River), the first iteration of the pavilion for 2021 consists of a distinctive tessellated facade which at night evolves into a gra...phically illuminated beacon. Structurally, the pavilion adopts construction methods involving a kit-of-parts that consist of scaffolding and a modular fabric facade. It is minimal in detail, contrasting in materiality but suitably scaled.
