25.01.2022 Sailors are supposed to like wind, but not when anchored. Saturday was blustery, and the Sailaway planned for Hungry Beach was changed to America Bay. We had a good turnup despite the weather. Because no suitable spot could be found, the happy hour was aboard boats with reasonable protection from the wind, followed by dinners aboard different boats. We hosted a happy hour and then joined Jouissance for dinner. By the time we returned to our boat the wind had died and we enjoyed a quiet night. The highlight of this sailaway for me was the walk (scramble) to the top of the waterfall. It was a brilliant day. The wildflowers were magnificent and we nearly jumped on a large snake. Have a look at some of these photos.
24.01.2022 The sails saw some sunshine last weekend.
23.01.2022 Tom Gable 2 November 2017 at 09:40 It doesnt get much better than this Have enjoyed over 10 years membership. The club has a great social atmosphere with monthly Sailaways in Sydney and Pittwater/Cowan. With a wealth of knowledge and experience of Coastal Cruising, this is a great club to sharpen your appetite for sailing. Sailaways in November 2017 are to Yeomans Bay on the weekend of 10th and 11th and Store Beach on the weekend of 25th and 26th. I encourage anyone who wishes to join us for a great couple of getaways to do so. We look forward to meeting new potential members
23.01.2022 Many of our CCCA members are also members of the SIYC (aka shaggers). Here's a link to explain what it's all about. http://creektocoast.com.au/shag-islet-cruising-yacht-club/
23.01.2022 WIDE BAY BAR UPDATE: The Survey Vessel "Norfolk" was on the Wide Bay Bar last Thursday conducting a long-awaited survey of the Bar to determine the extent of th...e shoaling problems we've been experiencing once again. Since the completion of the survey, we've had a meeting with the Gladstone Harbour Master (he's in charge of our local area) to discuss the survey outcome. It seems that what we have long suspected - and mariners have reported - about the Bar is now confirmed and as a result, there will be significant changes to navigation of the Wide Bay Bar. MSQ (through the Gladstone Harbour Master) have confirmed that they will be taking action in the near future to address the navigation issues through: - the issuing of updated Notices to Mariners - the realignment of the Hook Point light to a new bearing - the reissuing of reference points for crossing the Bar PLEASE NOTE the following: - New reference points will NOT be issued until the Hook Point light has been realigned! - The NtM 101 will remain current until a new temporary NtM is issued by MSQ - we'll let you know when this is available. In the meantime, we advise all mariners navigating the Wide Bay Bay to: - continue checking with our Radio Room for the latest information before commencing a crossing - log on before you commence a crossing (even if it is for only crossing the Bar) - exercise due care, caution and attention while crossing the Bar. Stay tuned to this page. When the above changes happen, we'll let you know. Safety by All Means.

15.01.2022 Commodore's Dinner 50th Anniversary Coastal Cruising Club.
15.01.2022 Taking a bit of time out before the Christmas rush with a few days on the boat. A gentle sail in Pittwater
12.01.2022 At our June long weekend sailaway in Jerusalem Bay we woke to the crisp but sunny morning, the water mirror smooth. I took this panoramic photo, which you can explore by tapping on it. We had about a dozen boats at the Sailaway, and, because there is some difficulty finding an on-shore site suitable for happy hour (too many oyster shells), we had a dinghy raft-up in the shallows of Pinta Bay on both Saturday and Sunday, which was a lot of fun. On Sunday I joined a few members for a walk to Brooklyn but we discovered at the top of the climb, where the bridge crosses the freeway, that the track was closed.:(

10.01.2022 If you'd like to meet some cruising sailors, our next Pittwater Sailaway is at Yoeman's Bay. We'll have a dinghy raft up for Happy Hour and dinner on host boats. Our next Harbour Sailaway is at Store Beach Nov 25 & 26. A beautiful location with the weather warming up. We have a party theme for happy hour James Bond and think Casino. 04.01.2022 Lots of fun at the Club's Christmas party yesterday (Sat 3rd Dec) at the Bayview Aquatic Centre. Here's a song by Trevor Long for you to enjoy.
04.01.2022 Hello Sailors! Happy New Year to everyone, and may you all have fair winds and calm seas in 2018. I hope you celebrated on the water at some stage.
04.01.2022 Just learnt that the NSW gov has a regulation restricting time at anchor in NSW to 28 days at any one place and 90 days in NSW waters in a year. This is over re...gulation. Don't they want boats to visit and spend $ in NSW. What about international yachts. Rules that are difficult to police and difficult to prove make us all the NSW look fools. Let's not make silly rules to fix a very small problem. See more
03.01.2022 @Peter Honan to Coastal Cruising Club of Australia 2 hrs Roseville A fantastic bunch of people. When it comes to sailing you can never know too much. Even for an experienced sailor like myself I always find it interesting and engaging to talk to the old salts at the club. I couldnt think of a better way to spend time on the water than with like-minded friends.... One of the best decisions of my sailing career to join the CCCA. My wife who had crossed oceans couldnt agree more!
03.01.2022 Thought fellow members would like to see what we have been up to in Hervey Bay. PS: we did not approach the whale - it came to us when we were stationary.
02.01.2022 Do you recognise any of these people? If so, call the police.
