25.01.2022 Not sure who needs to hear this today

25.01.2022 Kelly will be available for another 3 weeks until Thursday 3rd Dec, and return Tuesday 12th Jan.

23.01.2022 What your best example of this? There are too many to list from the world of nutrition!

22.01.2022 Thursday 2 weeks ago I was unwell (reaction to caffeine). Thursday last week Charles had a tummy bug. Tomorrow our daycare lady (Julie) is unwell and hopes to be good for Thursday So across 3 weeks I have only been able to work 1 day ... I appreciate your patience while waiting for responses to emails, waiting lists for a face to face consult and most of all for those who have had to reschedule (some twice!). As a mum who runs a business, consults, studies and does extra chores on 2 allocated days each week, I suddenly have even more respect for Mums who juggle the work / life / home balance. It’s definitely a juggle that keeps you on your toes, but is oh so worth it. Hope to be back to it Thursday. Thanks for your understanding. Kelly Hodges Dietitian

21.01.2022 Please be kind to yourself. Changes that are sustainable are worth FAR MORE than changes you can only maintain for a few weeks.

20.01.2022 People often think of 'good' as 'sweet', such as ice cream or chocolate. 2 things here, when you consume mostly real food, you don't actually enjoy this type of sweetness as much, and if you are looking for sweetness you can find it real foods too. Example of sweet treats from real foods: ... - Dates - Berries blitzed with coconut cream - Fruit - Bliss balls (almonds, dates, coconut) - PB Bark (PB, coconut oil) See more

20.01.2022 To all my beautiful clients, This is for any of you who may be talking negatively to yourself. It's time to STOP the negative self talk and treat yourself as the person who you aspire to be. Your thoughts and words are so incredibly powerful; fuel them with positive energy. With all my love, Kelly (Dietitian)

17.01.2022 Low carb versus Australian Dietary Guidelines on my blood sugar levels. The results speak for themselves. Kelly Hodges Dietitian

15.01.2022 Want to see what a Continuous Glucose Meter (CGM) looks like? Why would someone use it in the first place? How does it work? I was actually quiet sad to take it off this afternoon. I have so enjoyed all these experiments and it has opened my eyes SO MUCH to the effects of various foods. I'm going to do a video on my findings so be sure to check that out for a greater understanding of all those graphs I've been posting. ... And like I say in the video; I am no expert in CGMs but if you need a hand or have any questions, I'm definitely more than happy to help you out as best I can. https://youtu.be/I6OwIV4YR5U

14.01.2022 Ice cream demo was an absolute HIT! Today I did a 2.5hr Nutrition Workshop at a local high school. While the Nutrition Bingo was fun, and the education component got good feedback, the part that really took it home was the ice cream demo. A bunch of skeptical teens about how good frozen mango and coconut cream could really taste when blended together... well, they were stoked with the outcome and ALL came back for seconds, and some for thirds until we ran completely o...ut 500g frozen fruit 1 cup coconut cream Blend well in food processor and serve immediately

11.01.2022 What wonderful news to start your Monday with! Reducing BGLs by 1-2mmol may not sound like very much, but in the world of diabetes it is a HUGE accomplishment and needs to be celebrated! Not only did Fran reduce her BGLs from 5-8mmol down to 4-6mmol, she is also able to maintain them in a tighter range which means reduced risk of complications. And she lost a few stubborn kilograms too which she was happy with. ... Happy Monday everyone!

11.01.2022 The power of the mind is an incredible force. Don't waste your time indulging in negative thought processes that make you feel terrible about yourself. Instead, find the things you love most about your body. Is it your eyes when you smile, your beautiful brown hair or your ankles? Or maybe it's the strength in your arms, the appreciation for your belly for carrying a little human into this world or your ability to lift someones spirits when theyre down. What ever it is, focu...s on all the wonderful positive things that you absolutely love about yourself! Every time you catch yourself being rude to yourself (e.g. thinking unkind thoughts), catch yourself and change it into a positive thing that you love about yourself. What you think is what you will become; become a beautiful, confident and happy human who loves and appreciates the body they have.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, My name is Kelly Hodges and I am one of the Dietitians at Coastal Dietetics. I did this video to introduce myself and to let you know more about my approach to nutrition. If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you! ... Take care and look forward to meeting you soon. Kelly :) https://youtu.be/U8O4gt_on9E

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, My name is Kelly Hodges and I want to quickly introduce myself. I founded Coastal Dietetics back in 2018 when I returned home from living overseas with my now husband, Christian. I am a Mum to the most wonderful little boy Charles. He will be 2 in December, and brings me an incredible amount of happiness. In my spare time I love to cook, climb mountains, be at the beach and given we have just moved to a larger block of land will now be trying my hand at some ga...rdening! As a Dietitian I focus on a real food approach, and as it turns out, real food tends to be lower in carbohydrates hence I am also classed as a 'low carb dietitian'. My main areas of interest include weight management, Diabetes (currently studying to be a Diabetes Educator) and food intolerances). I practice what I preach and nourish myself and my family in the exact way I advocate. I consult face to face Tuesdays fortnightly, and online every other Tuesday and Thursdays. My face to face times are booked well in advance so I am considering opening another day. I absolutely love my work and am so happy I chose to go into nutrition. So if you have any nutrition needs, I'd love to help you out. Please feel free to get in touch with our clinic for an appointment or a chat to see if I can help you. I look forward to meeting you! 01.01.2022 They say before you judge a man you need to walk a mile in their shoes. I am delighted to have a CGM for the next fortnight to check the effect of various foods and activities on my sugar levels. Hats off to all those with diabetes who are making an effort to manage and control your BGLs! You guys rock and deserve all the health and kudos! ... Kelly, Dietitian
