23.01.2022 Looks way worse than it is! #brokentoeandtoddlers Thank you so much to @physiozest at Erina Heights for hooking me up with my awesome new friend to keep me running around after (or away) from the kiddies. If anyone is looking for an amazing physio (especially a female physio for after giving birth to those babies ) then Kirrily @physiozest is the best! ... She got me back into exercise after baby number 3 last year so much quick. (That doesn’t mean I actually exercise, but I could if so inclined) Kirrily is so knowledgeable, accomodating and makes you feel super comfortable. So if putting your health first is top on your list of priorities this year then book in a consult #newshoe #SupportSmallBusiness #centralcoastnsw

18.01.2022 I am definitely a little bit of social and a whole lot of antisocial.

16.01.2022 I witnessed much domestic and family violence growing up it was my normal. So I preface this post based on my own experiences personally and professionally. As a former prosecutor working closely with victims and now a defence lawyer who does work with legal aid and privately funded defendants and victims I get to see both sides of the spectrum on this complicated issue. ... I have been involved in cases involving horrific domestic violence, some allegations proven and some not. And the reality is that no-one is happy with the current system and it has to change! What the solution is though is far from simple. The short answer is, whether you are male, female or non binary being in a relationship with another human is a privilege. Having children with another human being is even more of a privilege. It is not a right. They are not your property. It is not an entitlement and you certainly don’t get to treat any other human being in any other way then with respect and kindness. There is a way to disagree that involves positive communicate but often it has to be learned and taught. Being a victim of domestic violence as a child doesn’t give you a right to be a perpetrator. You have free will and you can change your path. You can be better and do better. You should do better! Witnessing domestic violence doesn’t mean you have to choose a partner with those same toxic traits or stand for toxic behaviour. You also have free will. You are worthy. You deserve respect. You should demand it. Please if you are struggling to manage your anger or believe you are in an abusive relationship then talk to someone. The right people will believe. The right people won’t judge you and will get you help. The right people will help you intervene in breaking this awful cycle and help you do better. #breakthecycle #whiteribbonday #familyviolence

08.01.2022 sometimes I really do have to wonder. #marriedlife #familylawyer

07.01.2022 9 years ago today I was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court but statistically the odds were against me. My mum had me at 19. Young love didn’t last and my parents separated shortly after. My well meaning parents and step parents did the best they could amid a complex concoction of family violence, alcoholism and mental illness. ... They say it takes a village to raise a child. And my village was housing commission. I was quickly exposed to people from all weird and wonderful walks of life. Neighbours with ankle bracelets. Single mums doing their best and an army of fellow houso kids. We rallied together making the best of what we had, forming incredible bonds and memories in the process. No-one in my family finished high school. University was something other people did. I was more likely to see a lawyer for help than be a lawyer. But I did finish high school. I got a job. I worked full time and studied part time. I chipped away at each subject and the rest is history... I tell this story in the hope there is just one child, teenager, woman or man out there who has a big goal (or a small goal) or who thinks that the odds are stacked against them and who needs that encouragement. You have got this! It won’t be easy. It won’t be without tears, failures and self doubt. But take that first step. Fall down, rest and pause when you need too but don’t give up. Because one day you will look back at what you have achieved and be proud you kept going. #liftphotosbeforetheywerecool #lawyersofinstagram #lawyer #terrigal #centralcoastnsw #breakthecycle

04.01.2022 thanks for that update My Fitness Pal. I must say though with all the uncertainty I am really just taking a chilled approached to any big goals this year. 2020 has highlighted uncertainty in ways we couldn’t have imagined. A kin to a Hollywood movie (except too unrealistic to be any sort of real blockbuster). 2021 for me is more about acceptance. ... Acceptance of that uncertainty. Acceptance that ‘what we resist persists’. Acceptance that this wild magical ride called life has all sorts of twists and turns that we can’t even fathom. Acceptance that if you pray for rain then you also have to deal with the mud. #newyearsameme #centralcoastnsw #terrigal #erina
