25.01.2022 Yesterday I caught up with a friend and he told me that for the past year he had saved up all the $5 notes he had acquired. Yep. Just the $5 notes. He shoved them away, and at the end of the year, he had $960. WOW!!! So now he can afford a bit of serious kit that he has wanted for a while, a new toy which otherwise he could not have afforded.....For those of us with mortgages, that simple strategy could give us an extra mortgage repayment per annum. 24.01.2022 Well its about time, but finally Workcover have said that employers CANNOT go to your doctors appointment with you, and they CANNOT tell you to see their doctor. Well done: WorkCover also sought to clarify the requirements relating to worker choice of doctor. "Injured workers have the right to choose their own treating medical practitioner for the purpose of medical treatment and initiating a workers' compensation claim," the notice stated.... "Employers may recommend a medical practitioner to the worker. "However, an employer or insurer should not require or coerce an injured worker to attend a medical practitioner nominated by them for the purpose of medical treatment of a work place injury and the worker obtaining certification for claiming compensation."

23.01.2022 trully, why wouldnt you just get a broker to help you? Last week someone called me to ask me to give him an hour to review his decision of lender. WFT? he had used an online company which promised to return him all the commissions which would be received from the lender. (Bear in mind the broker would receive around .55 to .65% for the deal and do all the checking, verification, find the right lender and ensure it suited their needs....) Instead, this guy was going to pay e...ither $399 for a short list of lenders or brokers who would BID on his deal. (then he would have to submit the whole deal himself) OR he could pay 0.75% of the deal and get a related company aka broking firm to submit for him....I thought it was hillarious. I pointed out to him that the brokers who are "bidding" are paying a lead generation fee to the "independent" introducing company and they are then also copping an over industry fee of .75% minus the returned .55% leaving them out of pocket .2% and a hell of a lot of running around. A good broker would have made it cost and labour effective and earned their fee instead of a pseudo "independent" company routing it both ways... See more

18.01.2022 Bankwest is closing over 2/3 of its bricks and mortar branches in the Eastern States, and instead has recognised that customers prefer to use a broker for their lending needs.

05.01.2022 Preparation is EVERYTHING in finance. After a long time making sure we had all possible documents necessary for a complex loan application, it was finally submitted and approvals through in 48 hrs. That just goes to show that you just can't beat an experienced broker to get the right lender for the right deal. Very happy vendors, clients and me :)
