24.01.2022 The Dolci orange is a more recent variety of orange. A very popular orange grown for the export market , but with the way things we are we will hopefully see more of these for a few weeks.. They have greenish/brownish skin. super sweet eating with no acidic taste like a normal orange. They are also a seedless variety.

17.01.2022 So good to see the restrictions ease and we can all get back into some normal routine. Plenty of great quality produce available and loads of lines perfect for those menus. Cauliflower blossom(fioretto), treviso or raddichio, zucchini flowers, celeriac, cherry truss, coloured baby carrots, heirloom tomatoes, pencil leeks and yellow beans.... There are some lines that are still quite expensive as we are transitioning from Victorian season to Queensland season for the winter. @ Sydney Markets

09.01.2022 Some early season blood oranges now available. The fruit is cutting that deep colour already, and the prices are more than reasonable. The fruit will be in season for a few months so nows the time to start thinking how you wish to use them. Perfect for sweet and savoury dishes as well as juices and cocktail.

07.01.2022 Sadly Aussie stonefruit has come to the end of the season. Apricots ,nectarines and peaches are done with just plums still available for the next couple of weeks. I’ve chosen to only pack plums into the boxes this week as they are still nice eating fruit.

07.01.2022 For the avocado lovers.....Hass are back!! Shepard’s are still available for a short while. Aussie Navel oranges have begun. More of an eating orange than a juicing one.... Chestnuts are available for those who love to roast their own. Jerusalum artickoke are perfect for roasting, boiling and have a nutty flavour. Nice to pair with potato in mash. Yellow beans are a nice change to the green bean and add a nice colour to the dish. Brussels sprouts(if cooked in plenty of butter,salt and bacon) are a nice winter veg. @ Sydney Markets

05.01.2022 Wax Jambu. One of the fastest growing fruit trees in Asia. The red and white are 2 varieties. They are small, pear shaped. They are a refreshing, crisp, juicy and sweet snacking fruit. Although both varieties taste very similar it’s said the white ones have a sweeter flavour. Not readily available and a slightly dearer product. @ Sydney Markets

01.01.2022 Green jujube. Originating from China where they have been cultivated for more than 4,000 years and where there are over 400 cultivars. It's also known as Chinese date or red date. The fruit varies in shape from round to elongate and from cherry-size to plum-size depending on cultivar. It has a thin, edible skin surrounding whitish flesh. The single hard stone contains two seeds. The immature fruit is green in color, but as it ripens it goes through a yellow-green stage with ...mahogany-colored spots appearing on the skin as thefruit ripens further. The fully mature fruit is entirely red-brown. Shortly after becoming fully red, the fruit begins to soften and wrinkle. This variety, is round but flattened on the bottom and look similar to a small apple. They are beautiful eating fresh (crisp like an apple) or dried (sweet and chewy like a date).
