Sunday, October 4 is the day that Janet and Jack will reach their destination in City Beach, and this day is also fittingly World Animal Day. After leaving from Federation Square on Sunday 29 March, Janet and Jack, along with incredible support from Martin, the te...am have spent just over six months on the road. The purpose of the Walk is to raise awareness and funds for the many international partner projects that Animal Aid Abroad supports around the world. These partner groups provide veterinary care and rescue for animals who live a life of abuse and forced work under terrible conditions. They also work to educate the communities to try and end this way of life for future generations. 21.01.2022 BREAKING! Our Deathwatch 2020 Report has just been published. Its findings expose the dark reality of suffering horses endure on Australian racetracks. Once ag...ain, the Australian racing industry has lived up to its standard of killing one horse on its racetracks every three days. These are just the deaths caused by on-track injuries that make it into the stewards reports. The reports key findings highlight that, at the very least: 116 horses were killed on Australian racetracks in the 2019/20 racing year, most commonly from catastrophic front limb injury On average, one horse will die on an Australian racetrack every three days Other causes of death include: cardiac causes, massive bleeds, catastrophic hind limb injury, pelvis injury and head trauma. Nine horses were two-years-old when they died The most lethal track in Australia was Warrnambool in Victoria with five reported deaths The report features case studies of individual horses who lost their lives and as a new addition in 2020, CPR has also collated data on the number of horses reported to have suffered bleeding of the lungs or EIPH (Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Haemorrhage) finding 483 horses in Australia suffered the condition to such an extreme level they bleed through their nose. Failure to upload replays of races where horses were killed has also been highlighted and the final new addition to the 2020 Deathwatch Report exposes the names of the companies who sponsored races where horses were killed. That's not stopping Greyhound Racing NSW proudly celebrating the upcoming Million Dollar Chase, the richest greyhound race in the world. All paid for by the suffering of greyhounds. It's a Million Dollar Disgrace. In only her second race, All Out Midge fell at Broken Hill on 26 September. "Track staff" provided first aid. The vet examination showed complete hind limb paralysis. She was put to death.... She was 19 months old. Broken Hill doesn't show race video replays so we'll never see her face. That's 34 greyhounds 34

01.01.2022 School Holiday TV time! Who has seen this moving Doco? Last night I watched one of the most breathe taking, moving and exquisite documentaries I have ever seen. My Octopus Teacher on Netflix. Cannot recommend highly enough. I will be watching again and again. Craig Foster's life changing interaction with an octopus will also, hopefully, change the lives of those watching so they respect inhabitants of the ocean and the ocean itself. -Lynda Stoner
