25.01.2022 A most enjoyable shoot at Swinton Park NY. The weather was kind and a stiff breeze helped the birds go like rockets ! A terrific drive over the water of the weir, and some top dog work on the day. Hospitality was very good following five drives which tested the guns fully ! We look forward to tomorrow !



25.01.2022 Simon & Paul brought their group to shoot on a lovely summer afternoon. Paul's team won by only four targets on the Towers. Rowan & Steve took the Rabbit with 9/10 - excellent shooting !! Here is some of their action.......

25.01.2022 A lovely day at Wykeham - good breeze and new drives mostly on the High Country. Mathew presented fantastic pheasants, and so all the guns and gals had a great time !! We now look forward to Grouse tomorrow !!

24.01.2022 Cobaw hosted a Novice Shoot as an introduction to clay pigeon shooting. The emphasis of the day was on safe handling of sporting firearms, and developing a shooting technique.. Fun was had by all, and the competition rabbit shoot-off was won by father & son team John and James - congratulations ! Here are a few action shots of the day.

24.01.2022 At beautiful Snilesworth we were hosted by Johnny and Head Game Keeper Jimmie. Jimmie again produced some challenging birds for the guns, in magnificent surrounds. Pheasants, partridges, and Grouse by Bob -almost - were added to the bag. We retired to a lovely luncheon in the Shoot Room, and the most tasty of cheese wheels you have ever seen !

23.01.2022 The Buller Knights shot their annual and the silverware went to Tony and Ralphie for the pairs, and a brilliant shoot by Rohan on the Rabbit brought home the singles trophy for him. Lunch followed at the Shoot Room !

23.01.2022 A lovely day at Castle Howard - coffee and bacon baps in the majestic gardens, followed by a detailed shoot briefing by the Shoot Captain. The Guns enjoyed challenging birds and dodged a couple of rain showers to end with lovely bag of mainly pheasant and a few partridge. A memorable day for the Guns !

23.01.2022 We arrived at Egton on a lovely Yorkshire winter's morning to receive a serious briefing from Olly. The drives on the day certainly matched the prediction of the Gamekeeper, particularly the 'River Drive' which fully tested all of our guns. Luncheon followed four very good drives, and some of that great Yorkshire pud - fresh from the oven ..! .....with a glass of.

23.01.2022 The morning welcomed us with sunshine bouncing off the thick frost of the North Yorkshire Moors.... and then the Grouse flew across the butts. Our guns were challenged on the day, but over five drives acquitted themselves very well. All were well rewarded with s lovely luncheon to follow the shoot at Stoneley Woods, home of the Bransdale Shoot. Tomorrow onto a big Pheasant day - bring it on ..... !!



22.01.2022 A lovely day of Partridge shooting in challenging conditions. The dogs worked beautifully in the cool and damp morning, and the birds flew hard over the guns. Fog moved through later in the shoot, making the job for the guns difficult. On several occasions the birds flushed from a covey of up to 9 birds - quite spectacular action for the guns ! A good tally of partridges was taken and the party retired to enjoy Cates luncheon. [email protected]

22.01.2022 MaxCap enjoyed their Christmas party at Cobaw Sporting and with some instruction shot the Grouse Butts, and then proceeded to the Towers for a competition. Congratulations to team Bill, Brae, Jabin & Annie on winning the team event, and to Luke on winning the individual trophy on the shoot off. Great shooting guys !! But the style trophy was taken by the girl team of Felicity, Annie & Jessica - biggest win of the day !!

22.01.2022 Glenn and friends enjoyed a lovely winters morning of Partridge shooting. The birds challenged the guns but a good bag was the result, and showing some good dog work. Lunch followed to complete a VG day. Cobaw 0448 222919

22.01.2022 Dan & Jock arranged a Bucks for Eddie at Cobaw. Eddies team won the Tower shoot-off with a great 85%, and Sammie & Jock won the rabbit comp with 12 ...then festivities took over and just look to see the results ..... a clear win for the Beer Bong !!! GOOD LUCK, Eddie.

21.01.2022 The GB Team shot again at Cobaw on a beautiful summer morning. The ladies probably beat the men overall, and there was a decisive victory to Stacey and Georgie who shot 5/5 in the bolting Rabbit shoot off....... Very well done girls !

20.01.2022 The team shoot for the Cobaw Cup was a stiff competition. The teams of guns shot the Rabbit first, with scores of 20/20, 19/20, 19/20 and 18/20 - just to start ! After each team shooting 500 birds the winning team was only seperated by 18 birds ! Congratulations to Black Duck on retaining the silverware, and to Snipe, Pheasant and Partridge for the competition. Lunch and refreshments followed the shooting. 19.01.2022 A challenging and most rewarding day Grouse shooting on the North Yorkshire Moors ..... the Guns achieved their Bag despite inclement conditions. Well done Guns !!!

19.01.2022 A great day of Partridge shooting over hard working Brittany's was enjoyed by this party. We were fortunate to have three ladies shooting this day, and they each took sporting birds with style. Lunch followed in the Lodge, with a couple of Cate's special shoot dishes.

19.01.2022 IconCo enjoyed a corporate shoot and luncheon at CSC. Congratulations to team Pod, Guy, Sam & Kyle on winning the team Tower Shoot, and to Pod & Guy on winning the Rabbit competition with a 9/10 score - VG shooting, men ! Cate's slow cooked lamb with seasonal vegetables followed the shoot with a couple of top reds - a great day out !

19.01.2022 The Happy Health group had their team building event at Cobaw,and after practice on the Grouse Butts, ran two competition shoots. Congratulations go to team Mathew, David, Wayne Stephen & Chuong with a winning score of 14/20 on the Towers, and to Chris & Asif shooting 5/5 on the Cobaw Rabbit. An enjoyable shoot for all.

18.01.2022 The Bolter Victoria Classic made a visit To Cobaw, and shot. In the shoot-off on the Towers John, John, Colin & Dan came in with a wonderful score of 88 !! The other teams of guns were only separated by a few targets. Lunch followed, and the Classic continued on its way !

18.01.2022 James celebrated his 40th. at Cobaw, with some great friends. A toast to start, then warm up shooting followed by Elevenses. More shooting for the boys, then lunch in the shoot Room. A most relaxing day for all.

17.01.2022 This day on the Partridges was a day enjoyed by all. With a light breeze the birds flew over the guns fast, and by morning tea the birds were probably winning .... then the refreshed guns replied taking some very high and long shots . Anne shot very well again, and she certainly seems to enjoy these days in the field ! The shoot was followed by a welcome luncheon from Cate's kitchen, and some refreshment. 17.01.2022 GB enjoyed their shoot with a strong wind blowing presenting challenging targets. Teams Cavanagh and White shot well with team Williams prevailing on the Tower Shoot with a score of 19/30 in the blustering wind. Stacey, being such a lady then gave up her Rabbit Championship to Russell and David - the other members of her team - who shot 4/5 bolting rabbits to win. Here is the joyful group shooting, then enjoying luncheon in the Shoot Room.

17.01.2022 The Blastard Cup was shot for in ideal conditions and the guns set out to make the very best of it. Both teams were stacked with highly regarded guns to the the extent that City captain Patrick was not there to lead his team for the first two championship rounds - so vice Captain Paul led the charge ! Captain Black Dan led his Country team to within 21 targets of City at the final count. Patrick arrived in time to claim victory for City team and shoot the Cup !!

17.01.2022 Tom organised this Bucks Turn for his brother Tom. A lovely day for shooting and Team Chris, Kade, Bennett, Steve & Bill won the championship round with a score of 22/30. James & Al performed on the rabbit with a 5/5 - fantastic shooting. The boys, and some Old Boys enjoyed the BBQ following the shoot.

16.01.2022 The Grouse Plate was contested by 6 teams of guns, on a lovely winters morning at Cobaw. After a good warm up on the Butts and Towers the championship rounds were shot by each team, resulting in a tie between Farndale & Bransdale, with Rosedale two in front. The Captains agreed to shoot off on the rabbit, and the final was Rosedale by 5 over Bransdale, by 5 over Farndale - a tight competition for sure !! However a protest loomed and over lunch the Bransdale Captain raised this prospect, but then in a very generous gesture, conceded the Plate to Rosedale for this year - but only this year !!! Bob Receives the plate from the defending captain Paul. Lunch was for the first time at the Hill House, and a pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by all guns.

16.01.2022 So now the arrival of Team November ! Collection of sporting firearms and a day of practice to warm up before the real stuff.

15.01.2022 After a couple of opening days at Mulgrave Castle and Egton Estate, the party enjoyed a relaxing weekend with some private syndicate shooting at Hartoft, and a lovely Sunday luncheon. This in preparation for a big week of shooting to come..........first to Wykeham !

15.01.2022 Now, this was a day on seriously challenging Partridges at Raisthorpe. After the morning showers cleared we moved onto pegs to face very high birds - with the wind behind them !! Over three long drives the bag was taken, and the guns returned to the Lodge for lunch. Another great experience and day out for our guns.

13.01.2022 The Partridges are flying fast and hard at Cobaw Sporting, and Danny's party matched them with skill and speed to bag this beautiful lot of Partridges. Cate's lunch followed, to conclude a rewarding day.

13.01.2022 Tiger and his friends enjoyed a couple of great days of shooting at Cobaw Sporting. In lovely winter conditions the Partridges flew to challenge the guns, followed by Cates slow cooked lamb in the lodge. Next day - at it again on Sporting Clays and another luncheon, followed by a shot in the afternoon ! Great sport !!

13.01.2022 Alan and friends travelled to Cobaw Sporting for a day on the simulated field, shooting the Grouse Butts, challenging Towers and the popular Rabbit. The following day was for Partridges and it was a cracker ..... birds on the wing and most fun ......... here are the boys with some game taken to enjoy at home. A great weekend !!

13.01.2022 Competition was HOT for the prestigious annual Grouse Plate shot at Cobaw Sporting. One highlight of the day was Andrew double gunning on the Grouse Butts with his lovely pair of sub-gauges. The Danby team retained the Plate with the wonderful score of 326/400 ! Rosedale and Bransdale tied to be equal runners up. Lunch & refreshments followed - see Cate's menu, and Andrew's team with silverware.

13.01.2022 With the coming of July so too the challenge of the Twin Towers Shoot -this is about High Birds, and fast over shots. The guns performed well and were rewarded with Cate's supper following the shoot. For more information on our High Bird Days - [email protected]

12.01.2022 The inter-club shoot between the AC and MC was a lively event. The two teams of fine guns shot for the glory of the perpetual trophy. Practice and a warm up was over the Grouse Butts, with the hot competition on the Towers. The MC prevailed on the day and recaptured the cup from the AC team. Lunch included Cate's Partridge Pies, and Mr Spark presented the trophy to the winning MC team. Thus the silverware will reside in Collins Street until at least the next challenge shoot.

12.01.2022 Tim Organised a Bucks for Sam, and Sam brought along his future Father-in-law .... so far so good. The team shoot-off was won by Sams team with 85% and the the double gun rabbit by Mick & Chris with a possible 5/5 !! Followed a BBQ and some dress trimming ! All the best to Sam for next week.

12.01.2022 Ben and friends enjoyed a day of Partridge shooting at the Cobaw Shoot.It was a lovely day with gentle breeze, and the birds were challenging. 11.01.2022 Daniel brought his team of guns to Cobaw, with some good shots among them. Daniel and Loyd won the Rabbit pairs with a perfect 10/10, and Daniel, Loyd, Rui & Jason won the team event on the Towers with 82 %. A BBQ followed with some lovely pork & beef, with marinated prawns to follow. A top day for all !

11.01.2022 "Tweed and Targets presented by North of North" Hi Jon & Cate, a big thank you for yesterday. The lads and I had all had a magnificent time, the shooting was great fun and incredibly addictive, I think you have a few up and coming shooters on your hands - can you cope with that ? As for the food, what can I say ? ..... the Partridge Pie was quite honestly one of the best pies I have ever had and the dessert was gold standard. Best wishes, Matt.

11.01.2022 Michael, being a good mate, organised a Bucks Shoot for Will at Cobaw Sporting. The championshop was taken out by Dave, Sam, Will F. and Wes with a great flush of 26 of the possible 30 - well shot boys !! Here are the boys with the Buck at the BBQ after the shoot.

10.01.2022 Last Wednesday Cobaw enjoyed our annual Christmas shoot. We had a large contingent of very competitive shooters who enjoyed a tough day out. Not only were the targets running hot, but the commentary from the gallery was as well!

10.01.2022 Our Guns enjoyed Hartoft very much. The day looked bleak with rain to welcome us, but by mid morning the sun shone down on us ! Some challenging birds flew, thanks to the hard work of the dedicated Hartoft syndicate members. The morning drives were followed by a lovely luncheon, more shooting and then to The New Inn, Cropton for refreshments !

09.01.2022 Simon brought across his men to shoot, and then led his team of Dan, Martin, Dave & Sean to victory in the teams event. Dan & Simon then put on a display of shooting 19 rabbits to also take off the pairs trophy !! Very well done gentlemen - great shooting !!

09.01.2022 ARM enjoyed their day of clay shooting for clients and associates. Competition in the field between The Undertakers, Pheasant Fatale, Gamekeepers and Pigeon Poppers was intense. 08.01.2022 Martin's Project Group enjoyed a shoot followed by luncheon at Cobaw Sporting. Some shots show Martin and his team in fine action, and then at the luncheon. Pod and Mathew took out the rabbit trophy, and a vg day was had by all.

07.01.2022 Bransdale - with its very sporting grouse !! Great birds, but the most challenging weather on this trip so far. The guns held well against the cutting wind and horizontal sleet. Think it is fair to say that the late season grouse won this day !! The guns and guests retired after the final drive to a most welcome shoot supper.

07.01.2022 The shooting party are right into it now, and after a lovely day at Wykeham, we are off to one of our favorites - Duncombe Park. Very challenging pheasants here on a few new drives for us - and super-charged partridges coming through !! Another memorable day of shooting enjoyed by all guns and their guests.

07.01.2022 Charlie made Cobaw Sporting a Christmas present for Father, brother and Michael. All shot well on the Towers, and Rohan & Max won the Rabbit with 16/20. A lovely morning shoot was enjoyed. Here are some shots of the day.

06.01.2022 Dan organised a shoot at cobaw and invited his friends........a great afternoon followed with a team shoot-off. Dan, Al, Jake and Nick took the trophy. Refreshments in the Shoot Room followed. Megan took the glamor honours for the day.

06.01.2022 The Guns enjoyed a great day of Grouse shooting on Danby Moor. The weather was clear with a stiff keen breeze which added to the flight of the Grouse. We shot often in temporary Butts to foil the elusive endeavours of these late season smart birds. A highlight of the shoot was the Plover taken by one gun - the fastest game bird in flight ever recorded ! A good bag of lovely Grouse was brought home ! ......Off to Hartoft tomorrow !

06.01.2022 So now off to Farndale, after a testing day at Duncombe Park. The guns are well into it now, and taking some of Mikes highest and most challenging birds. Another great day that fully extended our 8 guns.

06.01.2022 The Christmas Tower Shoot was celebrated with some presentations, speeches and refreshments following a lot of shooting on a lovely afternoon. The shooting highlight was the Double Rabbit taken by Bennie & Phil with the single barrel handicap. Seasons best wishes to all !!

05.01.2022 A great day at Swinton Park. The stiff breeze made the birds go like rockets. Some great dog work all day, and the Guns held their own on most drives. Good hospitality with venison for lunch. We look forward to tomorrow !

04.01.2022 So, the next morning the party is up and about, and off to Egton Estate, for a lovely day on well presented and challenging pheasants. A gently breeze added to the sport and the home hospitality was enjoyed by the guns and guests very much.

03.01.2022 Danny and his executive team from OSA celebrated their sales year at Cobaw Sporting with a lovely shoot, and with some competition thrown in. The rabbit seperated the teams in the end, with Ben and Rod shooting the possible 10/10 ! Matt and Danny were just pipped with 9/10, followed by Rob and Jim. The guns then enjoyed a well earnt local luncheon with refreshments.

02.01.2022 So, after two weeks of excellent shooting in North Yorkshire the party gathered for a valedictory luncheon. Some lovely toasts to the guns and a celebrity book signing .......... Plans laid for the next trip .... !!!

02.01.2022 A day at Hartoft when the mist on the moors cleared, but the Guns saw the Grouse fly out to the flank ! Now the Pheasants and a few very fast Partridegs obliged by flying over the guns - but many so well trained to avoid those Aussie Guns ........ So with a nice bag of beautiful birds the Guns adjourn to the New Cropton to entertain the Beaters to a pint or three .... A great day out for all !!

01.01.2022 So for our first day on the real thing, the party jumped in the deep end and shot Mulgrave Castle. Challenging shooting the valleys some high pheasants and very quick partridges !! Elevenses in the Castle ruins, and a lovely shoot supper at the end of the day was very very much enjoyed by the guns and their private stuffers.
