08.01.2022 I have decided to start to use this platform to not only show off some of our work and to inspire your special day but to also teach you something new along the way. So today, I wanted to explain and show a few different print styles that you have the choice of for your wedding stationery. --... 1. HOT FOIL PRESS (GOLD FOIL ETC) Probably the most popular request and also on a lot of your dream wedding inspiration boards. Theres something unique about foil that spells glamour Its simply hard to not be drawn to sparkles and shine when it comes to the world of printing. Hot foil pressing is a process whereby metallic foil is applied to the surface of the stock using heat & pressure with a metal plate with your design imprinted. The result? A truly stunning effect that pulls out details of the design in a shiny metallic. 2. LETTERPRESS Another popular option for wedding stationery is Letterpress. The process for this is that the printer will make up a metal plate of your design and press it into the paper with ink. A separate plate is produced for each colour being printed (including an extra plate if you are using blind impression as part of your design). 3. BLIND / DEBOSS LETTERPRESS Similar to letterpress and quite often the two go hand in hand as this is not the preferred often for text as it can make the writing illegible as it has no colour imprinted with it, instead is an imprint into the paper stock itself, but it is perfect for little details on your invitations. 4. WHITE INK PRINT Rather than printing a reverse image, whereby you print a coloured background onto a white stock and leave the text so it comes out white, we can print white ink directly onto darker coloured paper stocks. 5. COLOUR PRINT The most common printing technique of all five we have talked about. It can produce an array of colours on either white or light coloured paper stock and it is the most common not only due to the cost-effectiveness but also because it has the least limitations in the design and quite often why we lean towards this. -- Other print styles exist but these tend to be the most popular options.
