04.01.2022 Our Mayor shares some great news . . . It is with great pleasure I can inform you we have temporary tenants going into the vacant Tandarook House. Blazeaid volu...nteers!!!!! Woohoo. The Salvation Army, thanks to Jarrod Woff, has kindly donated the use of the facility whilst we still have Blazeaid in our community helping out with our fire recovery. Five months today, can you believe since that dreaded night, but our amazing volunteers are still with us, as promised. This generous support from the Salvos will enable Chris Male to take on volunteers that don’t have any other option for accommodation eg.caravans/motorhomes/tents. The volunteers that will utilise the Tandarook House facility will only require it for sleeping and bathroom facilities, as they will still get fed etc at the Go Kart track. We are now chasing up beds, mattresses and possible fridge and couch for the communal area if anyone can help out, but otherwise this will be hopefully a fantastic solution to retaining or attracting the volunteers. Cobden Health and the local police have been alerted about the new activity at Tandarook House. Hopefully Monday we will have this facility in use, perhaps with another round of students volunteering from Geelong and their swags. Huge thanks to Jarrod Woff for helping make this happen!!
