22.01.2022 Yesterday, our residents with chef Gayle up Gabriel Gats famous Rhubarb & Strawberry Fool, but with a special little twist... champagne! It got everyones tick of approval, but none better than that of Rostering Officer, Wendy! Look at that face! Thanks to Greavesys Fruit n Veg Terang for the amazing produce. 21.01.2022 The Cobdenhealth Home Care Packages department would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Sam Daly, who sadly passed away last week. Sam was a provider of lawn-mowing and gardening services to our Home Care Package clients and was well liked, respected and valued by all. He was a lovely young man and a very hard worker. Sam would go above and beyond to ensure that the elderly of our community were always well looked after. He will be sorely miss...ed. Thanks Sam and Rest In Peace. 18.01.2022 VISITING UPDATE - PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR VISIT No mask, no visit. In light of new directive from the State Government & Commonwealth Department of Heal...th, all staff & visitors are required to wear face masks. If you have access to a mask, please wear it upon entry of Cobdenhealth. Disposable masks will be available from reception, but maybe subject to availability. No mask, no visit. Cobdenhealth is asking that, in the best interest of our staff, residents and wider community, if you can have a virtual visit rather than calling in to see your loved ones, please do. Virtual Visits are still available via Facebook Messenger, Skype and FaceTime at any time. Message our Facebook page for more information. Updates to follow next week.

Puzzles Pizza making Exercises Country week Music by resident, Shane Western movies Luise went to the Warm Water poor for a dip Lemon picking for next weeks baking (...and delicious fresh lemonade!) Refurbishing an old seat for the front of the Cobdenhealth facility. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information about our visiting guidelines, as we anticipate these will be changing soon. As stated Friday evening, we are now unable to allow visitors to Cobdenhealth, if they arent wearing a face mask. Please help us keep your loved ones safe. Virtual visits ARE available, and are preferred where possible over physical visits.

17.01.2022 What a huge week we had at Cobdenhealth! NAIDOC week We celebrated the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with activities such as dot paintings & crafts, cooking damper, and watching the Gurrumul documentary. ... Remembrance Day We learned that Meryl was a radio signal controller in WW2, Peter spent some time checking out the beautiful Remembrance Day artwork and reflecting on his service, we held a minutes’ silence & wore our poppies for our those who lost their lives through wars & conflicts. Exercises Finally we could hit the Fitness Centre again! Setting goals and making plans for our gym sessions, Luise was ecstatic to be back in the warm water pool, and of course we held our normal exercise groups. Birthday celebrations Hairdresser visit Table games, and playing on our new Tovertafel Visits from our friends & loved ones.

16.01.2022 First of all, we would like to say a big thank you to Erich Wagner for making our giant Noughts and Crosses board! The Cobdenhealth Residents had fun from sanding, undercoating it and top coating it! We cant wait to give it a go over the weekend. The residents also enjoyed a range of activities planned by our Leisure & Lifestyle team, including... Walks around Cobden Music by in-house musicians, Shane, Karen, Vic, and Lenny (the physiotherapist!) Local horses came to visit the residents! (Thank you Kelly!) Lots of games Arts & crafts Bingo Exercises Gardening - check out our carrots! We also got to enjoy some more delicious meals cooked by our kitchen crew. Another special thanks goes to all of the Cobdenhealth staff, volunteers & visitors. We are grateful for the continual support shown to Cobdenhealth each and every day! Have a happy & safe weekend everyone!

14.01.2022 Cobdenhealths response to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in South West Victoria. 20-07-2020 Given the increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases in South West Victoria, Cobdenhealth has made the tough executive decision to commence lockdown of our residential aged care facilities.... What does this mean? From 6.30PM tonight, until further notice, no visitors will be permitted to enter Cobdenhealths residential aged care facilities. It is imperative that we, as an organisation, give our residents, staff, volunteers and community the greatest chance of remaining protected against contraction of COVID-19. We will continue to offer virtual visits through Facebook Messenger (add Cobdenhealth Residents), FaceTime and Skype. We understand that there may be circumstances where a contact visit is necessary, these will be determined on a case-by-case basis in consultation with Evan Hill (CEO/DON) and Cristina Cardile (Clinical Care Manager). Help us keep your loved ones safe. What about the staff? In line with State Government and Department of Health advice, it is mandatory for all staff entering into aged care to wear a face mask, these will be supplied by the organisation. Staff temperatures will continue to be checked and recorded daily. Any staff who have had recent contact with a suspected or known case of COVID-19 must inform the organisation immediately, and may be required to isolate. Staff who work across multiple facilities, will no longer be able to do so to reduce the possibility of compromising multiple facilities. Staff presenting with flu-like symptoms must stay at home and seek medical advice. Staff who work in the community cannot visit the homes of people at risk. We have limited or cancelled non-essential meetings and training events. We have asked our volunteers to take a short break from volunteering at Cobdenhealth. We will continue to post updates as the situation changes. Please stay safe. 10.01.2022 Smiles all ‘round this week with the Christmas Long Lunch in Lovely Banks, a chance for everyone to catch up after the crazy year we have had.... one very special guest even made an appearance! Thankyou to the wonderful and talented Ros for playing Christmas carols on the piano in the afternoon for the residents and staff to enjoy. We had loads of activities, walks out in the sunshine, and exercises at the Fitness Centre, too.... Did you see our new tree? Check out our post from earlier this week! A special thanks to one of our volunteers, Sheryl. Sheryl volunteers with Cobdenhealth’s Leisure & Lifestyle team. She has a beautiful, caring nature, infectious laugh, and plans some awesome activities for our residents (plus, she’s pretty crafty!). Thanks for your support, Sheryl.

Cobdenhealths very own Tovertafel! Interactive games for the residents to play, we cant wait to give it a go! A gift from GenU Warrnmabool for residents Carmel & Mirna... their very own iPads! Thank you GenU, Carmel & Mirna were very surprised and excited. We hope youre all staying safe & warm in this very chilly weather. We finished painting our giant naughts and crosses board Played bingo & enjoyed plenty of visitors including Elvis Presley! We had live music provided by Cristina (Clinical Care Manager), Karen (Leisure & Lifestyle) and Lenny (Physiotherapist). We watched movies with all the cinema snacks; popcorn, chips, dixie ice cream cups and milkshakes!

04.01.2022 Arent the weeks just flying by! Weve been keeping busy, doing lots of fun activities. Last Thursday we said farewell & good luck to our awesome Home Care Packages supervisor, Paula Regan after a whopping 28 years service to Cobdenhealth. We wish Paula the best of luck with her future endeavours. ... Wed like to say a special thanks to Helen Scott for donating some beautiful hand creams for our bingo prizes! Thanks one again to our staff, our residents & their families and our fantastic community for the support through these challenging times.
