25.01.2022 Hi everyone, The most recent announcements may have caused some confusion for families. However, this notice is to assure you that all Cobram Primary School students return from school holidays this coming Monday (13th of July). The extended holiday announcement is only for schools in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire. I’m looking forward to welcoming students back from holidays. ... I remind families that students must enter through the front gates and the staggered pick up times remain in place at the end of the day. Enjoy the rest of the holiday break! Matt Knight Principal

24.01.2022 Hi everyone, As you may be aware, the NSW Government has made changes to the border crossing restrictions. We have some families that may be outside of the Border Zone and we are awaiting further advice regarding the impacts on those students.... The map shows the Border Zone in blue. You can find more information with the following links: https://www.nsw.gov.au//restrictions-tightened-for-entry-t The link for students and staff to apply for a permit is included below. https://www.service.nsw.gov.au//apply-covid-19-nsw-border- Parents and staff can check the eligibility of their residential address using this link. https://disasterassistance.service.nsw.gov.au/b/borderCheck We understand the difficulty that this causes for members of our school community and appreciate your patience. Please don’t hesitate to call the school to talk through the issues. However, if you are a family that’s impacted by these restrictions, I can assure you we are working to find the best way to support you. We will be in touch again the moment we have more clarity around this issue. Regards Matt Knight Principal

17.01.2022 Hello CPS families, This week has again been one that has required patience, flexibility and adaptability. Again, it was a week that in reflection makes me proud to be a part of such a wonderful school community. First and foremost, I want to thank you all for the manner in which you have responded to the situation that we find ourselves in. The weeks ahead will have their ups and downs. I want to assure you that we are here to help. Whilst it is impossible to help in th...e manner that we would prefer, we are still here. Be it for assistance with remote learning, or just someone to talk to through isolation, we are here. This time around there are some slight changes to the format of our remote learning strategy. The main inclusion is the three opportunities per week that students are able to log onto a google meeting and ask questions of their teachers regarding the video lessons. The video lessons themselves will continue to be short sharp lessons that require the students to then work independently to practice a particular skill. They are then, more often than not asked to upload their work to the google classroom so that the teachers can see it and give them feedback where necessary. You may hear the term authentic learning or authentic task from time to time. Staff and students use this term every day during reading, writing and mathematics classes at school. The idea of authentic learning revolves around the children working on their independent learning goal. Sometimes this is through activities that the students co-design. Sometimes it’s just through continued independent practice. If this is something that you want more information about, please discuss it with your classroom teacher when they make contact. Teachers will be attempting to make contact with every family before the end of next week. This contact will not only be to ensure that you are coping with the transition to remote and flexible learning, but also to discuss the progress your child/ren have made so far the (interrupted) year. During this time, please remember that your mental health and the mental health and wellbeing or your children is the number one priority. We can catch up on academic growth and you send your children to a school with teachers that are nothing short of outstanding. The most important thing is that the children return to school in the right frame of mind. Try to enjoy the time you have with them. If you get to the point where you or your child/ren need a break take one. You know your children better than anyone, so trust your judgement. PLEASE be sure to contact the office should you need anything. We are here to help and we will do whatever we can to assist you as we work through the next six weeks. Take care of yourselves, Matt Knight Principal
