13.01.2022 VICTORIAN MEMBERS: You will receive a detailed email this evening relating to use of face masks, NSW border restrictions and groups/classes. The following is a ...brief summary for the benefit of all members: Effective immediately ALL health care workers in Victoria must wear a level 1 or type 1 disposable surgical mask in public-facing areas, particularly where adequate social distancing is not possible. Patients should also wear a face covering. From midnight Tues 21 July tighter restrictions on the movements of Victorians into NSW border towns will be enforced. The NSW government has advised that ‘entry for medical or hospital services will only be allowed where those services are not available in Victoria, or can't be accessed remotely.’ We are seeking further clarity on this. We understand some group interventions are still occurring on a small scale and in adherence to strict social distancing, PPE and infection control guidelines. The Victorian Health Department has confirmed that this is acceptable - subject to its advice (above) for the wearing of face masks/coverings for health care workers and patients.
