01.01.2022 At its inception, the golden rocks lacrosse academy had few players,but the news about the new game of lacrosse in the community was still thick in the air and ...when it dropped into the ears of other kids, they were very surprised since they had not recognized the existence of such a game and they were eager to know more about it. So during the subsequent training sessions, a lot of kids converged at the field so as to have a taste of the game. Many at the first glance of the lacrosse ball were frightened as they thought they would be hit by it, but since they were blinded by the love for the game that had been ignited in there hearts, they eventually overcame the fear and learnt the game. Prior to playing lacrosse, many of the kids had not found the mouth with which to tell the sufferings they were going through with in the vicinity in which they reside, but upon joining, many have poured out to me the challenges they go through which in a way has motivated me to continue coaching them, like others told me that they move long distances collecting old plastics and metals discarded in sewage channels so as to sale them and get money, others hit rocks used for construction using hammers so as to help the parents and many other things. Lacrosse has substantially changed the lives of the kids especially during this period of unwelcome deviation from normality brought about by the corona virus like during training they are always consumed by joy and their voices which is like a sign of their declaration of love for the game usually rise to the sky and in every direction thus setting up a wave of expectations in the neighborhood. A sequence of events have transpired since the initiation of the golden rocks lacrosse academy and we still have a pile of requests for the smooth running of the academy but I believe that greater things are yet to unfold.
