22.01.2022 Cold Feet? Chillblains? Arthritis Pain? Dry Feet? Paraffin wax is a common option in heat therapy treatments for people with arthritis or other rheumatic diseases. The heat helps increase blood flow and relax the muscles, which can help relieve pain caused by arthritis, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. The heat from the Paraffin wax also stimulates blood flow to relieve symptoms caused from chillblains. It can even soften hardened skin by increasing the skin’s elasticity, all...owing for increased movement and mobility. Make an appointment for paraffin wax therapy on 93862355

21.01.2022 The new school year is just around the corner, so start the year by bringing your child for a foot assessment! We will assess your child’s gait, as well as any other concerns your child may have such as flat feet, heel or knee pain, warts, ingrown nails and more! We can also help you with one of the most important things on the back to school list - new school shoes! 17.01.2022 Are you experiencing tired, achy feet? WE CAN HELP! Although Summer footwear may be comfortable, it does not always provide the feet with the support that they need and can cause the feet to do more work than they should! Without a strap or lacing, the muscles in the arch and toes are working overtime to make sure that your feet do not slip in the shoes! So if you are experiencing any foot pain related to incorrect footwear, please come down to see our friendly Podiatrists for some expert footwear advice and recommendations for Summer! Book an appointment at www.coburgpodiatry.com.au or call us on 9386 2355

01.01.2022 BEST BACK TO SCHOOL SHOES Jason Diab It's almost time for the kids to head back to school. It's also the time when Mums and Dads get annoyed and confused trying to find the best school shoes for their kids. One of the biggest single expenses can be school shoes, and clever parents often come in and ask us for advice about what are the best brands and styles to buy.... There are specific features that quality shoes provide, and improper footwear can aggravate existing conditions. Be watchful for signs of irritation, redness and or blistering that may be caused from shoes that are too big or small. Examine the heels of the shoe for asymmetry. Uneven wear could be a sign of something more complicated. When buying shoes consider these guidelines: Take your child shoe shopping and involve them in their foot health. Shop for shoes later in the day as feet can swell. Shoes should feel comfortable immediately. There is no need to break them in. Go wide and deep Thumbs gap - make sure there's a gap of about half the width of your thumb between your child;s longest toes and the end of the shoe Try them on with the same sock that they will be wearing them in. Shoes should be: Flexible in the front/forefoot Not too heavy Shoelaces, velcro and buckles Get fitted by someone that is knowledgeable and trained. It is very common for parents to be tempted into buying shoes that are a larger size, DONT BE ! Shoes that fit well will support and protect growing feet. It is important to have your child’s feet evaluated by a podiatrist every year from around the age of three. Coburg Podiatry will educate parents on appropriate footwear and normal development to provide peace of mind and management options if treatment is required. Book your child’s annual foot check-up today, to keep them running tomorrow. Podiatrist Jason Diab top school shoes recommendations: 1. Ascent Footwear - cluster and defender 2. Clarks - daytona 3. ROC 4. Lynx Arrow 5. Asics - gel trigger 12 4. Harrison Indy 5. Grosby
