25.01.2022 Good morning everyone, here is a little something from all of us at Coburn to let you know we are thinking of you and miss you all! Remember, none of us planned for this but we can achieve great things when we work together.
25.01.2022 We are excited to share our Virtual Tour with you all! During all these COVID restrictions it has provided us the opportunity to learn new skills and find other ways of doing things. Normally at this time of year we are busy holding tours with our new Prep families. This virtual tour allows us to share our wonderful school with everyone while keeping everyone safe. Enjoy!
25.01.2022 Today is Education Support Staff day! Although not all of them were onsite today, we organised a special treat for them all. Our Education Support Staff are passionate and hardworking, always wanting the best for your children. 3 Coburn Claps for their dedication
25.01.2022 Today marked the end of our Principal Ms Mintons journey with Coburn Primary School. We would like to thank Ms Minton for everything she has done for our school and community over the last 6.5 years. We have seen her commitment and dedication to our school evident in the improvements and growth in our learning programs and environment. We sincerely thank Ms Minton and wish her all the best for her next journey.
24.01.2022 Just as we encourage our students to take time to look after their wellbeing, we also encourage our staff. Take a minute to watch the video we shared with our students today to give them an insight as to how our teachers are looking after themselves.
24.01.2022 Can you believe that tomorrow is Wellbeing Wednesday again already?? We sent out a quick survey a couple of weeks ago and are blown away at the positive feedback we received. We are so pleased that this addition to our Remote and Flexible learning has made things easier and given our community something to look forward to. What are your plans for tomorrow? We are looking forward to making pancakes! We also take this opportunity to thank our Leading Teachers who have done an amazing job of planning and preparing for each Wednesday, they have done an outstanding job!
23.01.2022 Week one of remote learning done and we all survived. It will get easier as we go, especially when we work together. We are part of history right now. How will your family remember it?
22.01.2022 Please read the attached document for return to onsite arrangements starting Monday 12th October
22.01.2022 Sorry Coburn Community, this one is late! Todays hunt is aimed at our younger students. Maybe it will keep them busy while you cook dinner. Stay warm and dry everyone, its a great night for a family movie night!
22.01.2022 OSH Club have released the next At Home flyer. It is full of activities that your child/ren can do at home. This is just a copy as the actual document is interactive. We have emailed this out to our families this afternoon. Hopefully everyone can find something they are interested in!
22.01.2022 Hi Coburn Community, Please check your emails or Flexibuzz for information on school operations on Wednesday 5th August.
21.01.2022 The vast majority of students in Victoria are learning from home because that is the advice from our health experts. If we did not follow this advice, more than... one million children, their parents and school staff congregating at our schools has the potential to spread Coronavirus in our community. Let me be very clear, particularly to the federal government who do not run any schools, we will only transition back to face-to-face teaching for all students when that is the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer. Not a moment before. What we are doing in combating this pandemic is working. But the situation is very fragile. A move back too early could see a spike in cases and a need to reimpose any restrictions we may have eased. I know this is hard - for parents and carers, students and educators - flexible and remote learning is challenging, no doubt. But I could not be prouder of our principals, teachers and support staff. Exceptional, dedicated and innovative. They are doing their very best. I am seeing this first-hand as a father of three school-aged children. And I could not be prouder of Victorian parents and carers. 97% of children are learning remotely. You have heard and understood the message. Thank you. And for students where learning from home is simply not possible, our schools are open for you. We are all in this together. And it is working because at all times we have followed the advice of our health experts in Victoria. We must, and we will, continue to do that.
20.01.2022 Hi everyone, please take 5 minutes to watch this with your children in preparation for our return of Prep, One and Two students tomorrow. Please take particular notice of the information on which gate your child/ren will be able to use to enter the school.
19.01.2022 Sneak peak alert! Our Art teacher, Ms Sommeling has been busy creating a Bitmoji Classroom for her students. This is an interactive space with lots of hidden ways for students to be engaged. Keep an eye out for its release! We are very proud of our staff for going above and beyond in this challenging time looking for ways to keep our students engaged.
19.01.2022 I know parents are apprehensive about Term 2 and how learning from home will work. Ill admit, as a father of three school aged kids, I am a little bit as well! This is a message to all the parents out there.
19.01.2022 Today is World Teachers Day. It is a day where we stop and honour our teachers and thank them for everything they do. All teachers have faced additional challenges this year and we could not be prouder of our staff. They work exceptionally hard every day to ensure our students have the best opportunities. A big thank you to all our teachers here at Coburn!
19.01.2022 If you havent already, check out ABC Education. Its a great safe site to have kids explore and learn about lots of different things. They even did a lesson on why onions make us cry! They are extending the educational programming on ABC ME to 10am to 3pm for Term 2. They plan on having Primary school content in the morning then move to Secondary content in the afternoons.
18.01.2022 That’s a wrap for a very strange and unique Term 3! Who would have thought that we would have an entire term as Remote and Flexible learning. A very big well done to our students and families for the resilience, flexibility and persistence that we saw during this challenging time. A very big thank you to all our staff for the determination, creative thinking and willingness to make this work. We know that Term 4 will be different and a challenge and we also know that with ...what we have seen from our students, families and staff we are well prepared for the next challenge. Have a safe and relaxing break, we look forward to seeing everyone physically or digitally next term!

14.01.2022 Now more than ever, our kids need us. Not to become their teachers but to be their parents and carers. To let them know that itll be ok, that we love them, a...nd that the world will keep turning even if they dont finish all their schoolwork today. They dont need us to become experts in maths, science or PE. Theyve got their teachers for that. And let me tell you their teachers are extremely good at it. No matter what happens in the coming weeks and months, theyll make sure our kids are still on track. But right now, our kids need us to take care of them. To watch out for changes in behaviour to sleeping patterns, mood, and appetite. To make sure theyre not being over-exposed to bad news and that they feel like they can ask questions. And to make sure that, if things start getting a bit overwhelming we reach out and seek help.
13.01.2022 R U Ok? This is something that we should be asking each other all the time. Now more than ever during this time of extra stress and pressure. Today is a day to remind us how easy it is to check in with a family member, friend, neighbour or colleague. Make sure you take a minute today to look after your own mental health.

13.01.2022 Day 1 of remote learning complete. Well done to all our Coburn students and their families. Just remember there will always be teething issues when things are new but we will work through this together. There will be more rigour added to this as it progresses. Parents do the best you can and communicate with us. Look at this picture of Chloe from prep to brighten your day. Look at how proud she is of her great work. 3 Coburn claps for Chloe

09.01.2022 This was not our idea, we have borrowed it from another school but just couldnt resist sharing! These holidays we are sure that as parents/guardians you have had to say no to lots of things. The idea here, is that you say yes once a day to something your little people ask you. Write it on a sticky note or piece of paper and put it in a jar. When all this is over, it can be your families bucket list. You can work your way through the jar and be more grateful than ever for all the little and lovely things in our lives. Lets see how full we can get our jars!
09.01.2022 Have you stopped to admire our beautiful gardens, school grounds, buildings and facilities. Mick and Liz work hard to keep them looking the way they do. They do a great job!
