10.01.2022 Aloha paddlers To clarify a number of queries, there were a number of disqualifications in the OC1 Open Men's Long Course Marathon event. These decisions were not taken lightly by officials, and were done with very heavy hearts, as those DQ'd included family and friends of COCC. The DQs came from a breach of AOCRA Regatta Rules D.7.6(a), and D.9.1.(c), relating to failure to have a life jacket on your person at all times during the race. As such, you may notice that the offi...cial results have now changed from what was originally published by a number of sources immediately after the race. COCC has the safety of all paddlers as a paramount concern, and those who were DQ'd have been deeply remorseful by their actions. It must be stated that the DQ decisions were accepted by those concerned with a great deal of honesty and maturity. Further, the sportsmanship shown by those during the presentation goes to show why we are all in this sport. COCC stresses that everyone on the water should always paddle safe by wearing a life jacket, wearing a leg rope and to take with them any other communication and/or emergency devices necessary for your journey, so you can return home safely to your loved ones. In saying that, we hope that everyone who made the journey to Cronulla had a safe trip back home. Mahalo See more

05.01.2022 Looking for paddlers to join us! PM us to find out more details

05.01.2022 Hi all, as National and State AOCRA bodies have cancelled all regattas within the next month up until 16 April, until further notice the State Championships due... to be held in the first weekend of May in Cronulla are postponed. As most who have organised regattas know, you need a minimum of a months notice to NSW Maritime in which to lodge an aquatic licence. We would therefore need to lodge an application for a licence by the end of this month if the regatta is to proceed. We shall await and see what directives are received by the end of the month and shall advise if we can proceed with the regatta on the planned date. Mahalo See more
