24.01.2022 Last egg delivery for the year, well actually for the Decade, tomorrow. We are doing our egg run Tuesday, New Year's Eve, this week. Girls have done their best in this heat and We have a good supply for tomorrow. Delivering to Glenorie, Dural, Arcadia, Galston, Round Corner and Glenhaven.... PM if you would like a delivery. After much consideration, we unfortunately, also have to have a price increase from next week. We have tried as long as possible to absorb the increase in feed prices but it has become unsustainable to keep doing so. This drought is relentless, and the cost of raw material for feed has skyrocketed so we have tried really hard to maintain a great price for as long as possible. We still believe you are getting value for money with the new price structure from next year and are definitely still comparable with the supermarket but 100% fresh and local. So....this week still $6 per dozen, $15 for 3 dozen. From the New Year $8.per dozen, $12 for 2 dozen $18 for 3 dozen. I'm sure you understand this has not been an easy decision but it basically covers the cost of feed for our beautiful chickens. 24.01.2022 Just a little write up... Due to an increase in the theft of either eggs or the money from the HONESTY JAR, we are now leaving minimum stock out on our roadside stall. This is a decision that saddens us greatly. We have tried to have faith that people will do the right thing but the loss, if it were to continue, is unsustainable. The small amount we make from selling a fresh, quality product literally only just covers the cost of feed. In the last 2 weeks we have had over 20... dozen eggs, or the equivalent in money stolen from us. Please keep coming to buy our eggs and jams, give us a ring or toot your horn and we will happily serve you. Much as it pains us, there will still be self serve but cameras are being installed. For the people in the green car, I have your photo and numberplate. For the girl in the hat with the dark long hair, you were seen stealing. Thanks for ruining the good vibe we had hoped to maintain during tough times. We are a small local business trying to support other small local businesses. As a side note....if you have no money, no food, no necessities, I would be the FIRST person to help you out.

23.01.2022 It's going to be a big week here! Hawkesbury Show this week for our show birds so lots of pedicures, fluffing and prepping! Finally got some girls coming back into lay, fingers crossed the boys are doing their job. Some winter tips now the weather is getting cooler:... Now is a good time to increase bedding. We use a deep bed of clean pine shavings. We have found that the birds love it and stay clean and warm, the eggs stay clean and straw, or other stem bedding can provide wonderful breeding and living places for mites which is why we prefer shavings. Some heating feed in the afternoon as a treat, a good quality scratch mix with sunflower and cracked corn...heat from the inside! A pinch of Cayenne pepper in the water, a tip from Canada! Block up draughts, where you might like a cross breeze in Summer isn't so comfortable in Winter. We have some beautiful girls and boys ready to go to new homes too! Don't hesitate to call and ask any questions!

Tomorrow I get to do the same to Chris and Liam Hemsworth and Prince Harry But.....they are my Roosters, not the real thing Yep! It's show time this weekend and we've got 23 of our beautiful Sussex birds off to Hawkesbury Spring Poultry Show. So proud to be taking these birds and thank my wonderful mentor, Lee, every day for the ...legacy she has left with me. 21.01.2022 Well, absolutely blown away once again. Spectacular results for our beautiful birds at Hawkesbury Poultry Show today. The show was very well attended, we got some terrific and positive feedback and it was nice to be competing amongst so many quality birds. Results as follows: BUFF ... 1st and 2nd Male 1st, 2nd and 3rd Female LAVENDER 1st Male 2nd and 3rd Female SPECKLED 1st Male 1st, 2nd and 3rd Female LIGHT 2nd Male Did not show any hens. ANY OTHER COLOUR 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male 3rd Female....with our Developmental Porcelain female. It was wonderful to get some sensational feedback on the quality of our birds and also the admiration the Porcelain got as they are still a developmental colour. Progeny of all these birds are available now. Thanks to the organisers and judges for a great show.

18.01.2022 Just a quick note regarding this week's delivery. Poor girls have really struggled with the heat, the wind, the smoke and generally challenging weather. If I have messaged you or replied to a message then delivery is confirmed. At this stage anyone who would like eggs apart from the already confirmed orders, we will do a second run on Friday as with the easing temperature we expect reasonable production. What is most important to us is the health and welfare of our birds s...o we will never force them to lay in unnatural conditions which is why, unfortunately sometimes, we may be a little short on eggs. 09.01.2022 Been a while since we posted, moving 208 birds into their new resort has been fairly time consuming. All have settled in well, hatching for this season has given us some lovely young birds. A new addition to our flock, we are now also breeding Rhode Island Red bantams, 60 years of perfecting this flock from a dedicated breeder, we are honoured to be continuing with his birds. 05.01.2022 Good Morning All! Just a quick note regarding deliveries this week. Existing confirmed orders will be delivered today, Wednesday. We are now taking orders for a delivery run on Friday. The girls have gone off lay a little bit due to the extreme heat we have had, and we did not want to commit to delivering today just in case we had a worst case scenario with respect to the fires as we are in quite a vulnerable position where our property is.... Luckily we have come through unscathed so far but everyone needs a couple of days to recover. I will PM everyone who has already ordered to confirm. 04.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just a little update re eggs. We are doing our best to be able to provide eggs to our regular customers and local community. We have been faced with a lower productivity rate recently due to adverse weather, chickens moulting and nature doing it's thing. At this stage we have sold out of eggs apart from the existing orders we are committed to fulfilling.... As soon as this changes we will post to the page to advise we have eggs. We would love to be able to provide eggs to meet the increase in demand but we do not force our birds to lay in any way and the poor girls are doing their best. A few things we promise: We are NOT hoarding eggs to take advantage of desperate people. We are NOT increasing our prices. We WILL try and provide to as many people as we can. Remember we are a community and a nation of resilient people, be kind to each other, stay safe and sensible and in a few weeks this period of "crazy" will hopefully be a distant memory xx

01.01.2022 Egg and Honey run tomorrow.......But wait! There's more! Someone got busy in the kitchen and we have added homemade Jam to our range.... 100% homegrown Australian fruit. 3 basic ingredients in each flavour.....Fruit, Sugar, Pectin. Limited numbers available, currently we have: Apricot, a beautiful chunky full of fruit jam. Lillipilli, crystal clear jam/jelly with a sweet delicate flavour. Crabapple, a beautiful ruby coloured jam/jelly perfect to also accompany roast pork, chicken or turkey and game meats as well as using as a jam. Beautifully presented and large jars. So PM with your egg, honey, jam orders and we will happily deliver for you tomorrow to Glenorie, Arcadia, Dural, Galston, Round Corner and Glenhaven. Genuine LOCAL eggs and oranges just picked this morning. Just past Glenorie village heading North on Old Northern Rd. Our lovely Sussex ladies are also coming back into lay so we also have limited numbers of quality chicks available soon from show winning parents.
