19.01.2022 Coconut Hut is a Cuisine of Kerala, a state in the south west of India. Kerala is known as the "Land of Spices because it was one of the major spice shipping hubs for the globe as early as 3000 B.C and is still a major grower and exporter of spices. Spices are a fundamental element within the cuisine of Kerala and enable each dish to encompass its own distinctive flavor. Those spices most commonly used are black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, ginger, tamarind ..., turmeric and stair aniseed all of which are cultivated in profuse amounts within Kerala Kerala now referred to as ‘Gods Own Country’, has coconuts growing in abundance and as a result, coconut has become a significant aspect within Keralan cooking. Coconut milk, cream and kernel (grated or sliced) are commonly used within dishes for flavoring and thickening, in turn reducing the amount of oil/ghee that is required when cooking. Coconut Hut is owned by young professionals from Kerala the powerhouse of Indian Spices. We deliver the best menus of traditional Kerala recipes with real Indian touch. It is our humble attempt for the people in Bundaberg to introduce a variety of authentic dishes especially light and simple authentic curries from the land which has adopted the slogan "Gods Own Country" .
