22.01.2022 I've just extended the life of this skirt and pants by buying some basic 'neutral' AW knits to wear with them @scanlantheodore . Neutral hues will see you through many situations, they won't stand out and can be mixed with more interesting items in your wardrobe to elevate and freshen up your look. These pants and skirt came along with me on my shopping trip so I could see exactly what would and wouldn't work well with them.

20.01.2022 Feels like I'm steeping back in time when I visit my local cobbler. It's that time of year when you are getting your boots out or considering buying new ones. Always a good idea to resole them (the earlier the better). I've just done this to a pair I bought last year. They aren't the cheapest shoe in my wardrobe so I definitely want extra mileage out of them. Don't assume that shoes with a hefty price will last longer and be more durable. They are often sold with leather soles and as gorgeous as they are they will never last long once taken outdoors. So I'd suggest finding yourself a good local shoe repairer and if you haven't already, go and get your shoes resoled. #supportlocal

19.01.2022 Today's clients just reminded me of how self-critical we (women) are of ourselves, particularly our body. Most of the time we are our own worst enemy, myself included. We see the so called 'flaws' that others don't even look twice at. Today's session was about focusing on the features and areas of their body that they like (using clothes to visually draw the eye to those areas) while camouflaging and minimising the areas they don't like so much. They both left their Styling session with a little extra spring in their stepand feeling a whole lot better about their body. Isn't it time we all gave ourselves a break and a little pat on the back. We are bloody BEAUTIFUL!! Let's drink to that tonight

17.01.2022 Ticking off my 'to-do list' - clean up and organise my jewellery. It's a great way to take stock of what jewellery you have, what you want to keep and what pieces you need to pass on. It's no secret I love accessories and have many. Some I wear often and some I've forgotten about because they have been hidden under a pile of other stuff! Not anymore. I've found some fab storage items from Howards Storage and IKEA. I love that they are clear and I can see all my options at one glance.

15.01.2022 With a thirst for new experiences, knowledge and a challenge, I jumped at the opportunity to participate in a Medicine Drum making workshop. Yesterday ‘I birthed a drum’ (kids still laugh at me saying that, and I smile as these words come out of my mouth). But it’s true! The journey to make this drum was really ‘labour’ intensive, sacred and revealing in many ways. Thankful for the Kangaroo and Hoop Pine. The drum now needs to dry out over the next 8 days before it can be use...d. Wowsers, this is just the beginning. 02.01.2022 Shopping with teenagers (my daughter and her friends). Hands down, most challenging clients. Lots of eye rolls and laughter at anything I suggest. What I know is that clothing plays an important role as they navigate social trends while exploring and expressing their identity. They don’t want their parents advice, they want their style to feel their own. The growing concern regarding climate change and global warming has created a major boost in second-hand and thrift shoppin...g amongst young people, including teens. Looking through second-hand stores furthers the idea of fashion as a personal signature that teens crave. They want to find something they like and give it a new home. (You could subtly suggest these places as a shopping destination, if they haven’t already tried .) I think it’s important I keep reminding my teen (cue the eye roll) that a major part of eliminating clothing waste is making sure she wears everything she has many times over and over before buying something new.
