22.01.2022 **COVID testing policy for arrivals into WA** The COVID-19 sub-committee is aware of air passengers from the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) who arrived in Weste...rn Australia (WA) on the latest two flights being requested by WA authorities to undertake a COVID-19 test on day 11 of their stay in WA. We are seeking clarification of WA’s COVID testing requirements for arrivals and their application to IOT travellers under the WA-IOT travel zone from the WA Government. We will update the community as soon as we receive information on the testing policy and arrangements for the IOT specifically. We acknowledge the need for clarity and the level of community interest in any testing requirements and assure you that we are seeking to resolve this and update you as a matter of priority. Please tag and share this post with family and friends. Thankyou

22.01.2022 **UPDATE: travellers from IOT not required to present for testing 28 August 2020 ** We have confirmed with the Western Australian Government that, as of today, ...IOT travellers entering WA are exempt from the WA Presentation for Testing Direction. In addition, those IOT travellers who arrived in WA from 21 August 2020 will not be required to present to a COVID-19 clinic on day 11 of their entry. We thank you for your patience while we urgently clarified this situation for our residents and visitors. Please share this post with family & friends

22.01.2022 **Important Message : IOT COVID-19 RESPONSE UPDATE: Aligning CI and CKI with WA border arrangements ** In meetings today (4 November), the Emergency Management ...Committees of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands have endorsed the recommendation proposed by the COVID-19 subcommittee that the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) align with the upcoming WA border and travel adjustments from November 15. This includes: Adopting the WA adjustment for very low risk states (defined as those with no community cases in 28 days currently NT, SA, ACT, TAS, and Qld) and allow travel from these jurisdictions, via WA, to the IOT without quarantine or isolation restrictions Endorsing that low risk states be categorised as jurisdictions with less than five community cases per day on a 14-day rolling average. This currently includes NSW and Victoria. Travellers from low risk states may enter the IOT after isolation/self-quarantine in WA for a period of 14 days, with a mandatory COVID-19 test on day 11. EMC also endorsed the maintaining of the current state of emergency (currently in place until 17 December, in line with national protocol). This endorsement is in line with their earlier decision to align the IOT with WA staging and border measures. People will still be required to apply for travel, to both WA and to the IOT. We continue to liaise with the WA Government to support the WA/IOT Travel Zone and operationalise the controlled borders processes. Further information will be available later through the regular Territory Controllers Update. For further information on the WA border arrangements, go to: https://www.wa.gov.au//covid-19-coronavirus-controlled-int Please like and share this post

04.01.2022 Phishing alert Be alert for emails claiming to be from Federal Government organisations that are seeking your personal information, as it’s likely to be a p...hishing attempt to steal your identity. We sought urgent clarification from the WA Government and can confirm that WA is reviewing this Direction with a view to amending it to reflect the WA/IOT travel zone. Again, we will let you know as soon as we have any more information. Until there is a formal change, IOT travellers arriving in WA including those on tomorrow’s flight must follow all instructions from WA authorities.
