17.01.2022 Today is IDPWD (or International Day of People With a Disability). A day to celebrate the fact that disability does not equal inability! The Leap Shop wouldnt be the same without our volunteers. Their ability adds so much value to every transaction. 17.01.2022 Our Volunteer Caetlin had this to say to you all about becoming a volunteer. LEAP provides a totally inclusive space where all people can work toward their goals and be engaged in their community. "Becoming a volunteer was one of my weakest moments because I didt know yet what to expect and as I worked through my stages it helped me gain my consciousness to understand that achieving something and over coming that hurdle or hitting the ball over the net and making the right ...choice is what I wanted. the team that I work with are about learning about youre skills and abilities to understand that learning everyday has a positive outcome and this I can explain to you is you are going to go far with where you want to be and what you want out of it to help youre self esteem. This is where I talk about the progress you can make but make sure you are ready. I looked into and making that one progress with my goal was to learn what working in a retail store helped me to learn about myself and what it was that I wanted to learn and achieve in becoming a worker and I go there and I walk in as a different person and walk out with a really happy outcome with what it is that I achieved today. So I hope I can help others out there that want to understand being a volunteer." See more
