23.01.2022 Meet Bundy.. Bundy was a poddy that we hand raised a few years ago. He is now one of our breeding bulls. He gets to hang out with our cows after they go through our ET programs. Whenever we muster he always comes to say hello and hangs out for a bit. He’s meant to be having a spell in the good paddock but he keeps finding his way back to hang out with his girls. Naughty boy!

21.01.2022 Here we go again! We’re mustering over the next few weeks tagging our newborn calves and getting their DNA ready for registration. We are also getting the paddocks ready for joining. The heifers behind us in these photos are getting joined to MSMFP0011. (We’ll post some videos of the heifers too) We’re needing to be very organised as Linc and Ellie are getting married in October. Exciting times ahead!! The weather has been warmer but we are very hopeful for some rain that is forecasted this week.

21.01.2022 We have just done a program with Ced and Rowena and they’re such a delight to work with and we have achieved the best results ever! Looking forward to many more programs. Congratulations Ced and Rowena, you’re such a asset to the cattle industry!

15.01.2022 These little guys have been decked out in their new bling! By tomorrow, our team (mainly Mark Douglas ) will have tagged at least 300 new babes, with a few more to drop by Christmas time. They all get DNA taken so we can start the process of getting them registered and in the database. We have had Steve from Gray Street Vet Clinic come and check our bulls to make sure they’re in fine condition to get the job done for another season.

09.01.2022 Here we go again! This week we’re weaning our calves and preg testing our cows. We did an AI program in January so we’re excited to see our success rate!

07.01.2022 Gully paddock going back to their paddock after a morning in the yards. Only a quick 5 min walk!

07.01.2022 We finally got some rain last night!! 30mm! So we thought it’d be nice to do another couple of paddocks while it isn’t so dusty! This video is of our gully paddock, it has 70+ cows and over 80% have calved so far. We put their blue number tags and NLIS in and collected their TSUs. This paddock had 100% confirmed pregnancies so we will tag the rest at branding time. Doing majority of the tagging now allows us to send away their TSU’s and have their DNA back by branding time so we can make a range of decisions.
