24.01.2022 archie // #sneakpeek ------- A little travel session to Bowen yesterday, to photograph this little fella. His two big brothers possibly love him, more than they love Hot Wheels cars. And trust me, they love cars. They were also awesome photography assistants, helping me with my gear, and more than willing to help out with a car-themed photo for their little brother. Thanks boys! ------- Pups Ollie & Penny were allowed in on the action towards the end of the session. While Penny was willing to wait for the treats to come to her (sometime showing me a little attitude), Ollie took matters into his own hands, heading straight to the big bag of tricks.

22.01.2022 buster+remi (+ their cat) // #sneakpeek ------- On a commercial shoot yesterday at the client's property, and was welcomed by Buster the labrador, and Remi the greyhound mix. Buster is one of those 'there is no such thing as personal space' kind of dogs, while Remi prefers to kind of sit back and take everything in.

20.01.2022 spencer, fletcher+gracie // #sneakpeek ------- A fun afternoon session with these three and their humans, at a beautiful property that has been in the family for over 150 years. We got to take photos with beautiful 100+ year old poinciana tree and some silos. Six month old spoodle Gracie, however, thought that the photos were interrupting her afternoon tea of foraging for what cows had left behind... #luckyshescute

17.01.2022 the westbrook family // #sneakpeek ------- In all honesty it felt a little weird photographing 6 adults, who could all follow instructions, not need any treats or weird noises to look at the camera, and didn't need any sort of bribery to stay in the one spot ------- Such a great family to photograph, and totally up for a couple of fun poses (their idea), and taking off their shoes to walk through some water, and down a gravel road (my idea)

16.01.2022 2021 Coffee+Hops Calendar Models // #announcement ------- Here are the winners of the calendar voting! If you can count, you will realise there are actually 13. There was such a close finish to this year's voting that with just a couple of minutes to go, we ended up with a three-way tie for the last spot! ------- So instead of working out someone to eliminate anyone to make the 12, we are going to keep the 13 and make one of our model winners our 2021 cover star!... ------- We are so excited for how next year's calendar is going to look, and we thank everyone who participated in the vote. 16.01.2022 the menzies family // #sneakpeek ------- At one of my favourite locations, we started out the session in the park area, before heading down onto Shoal Point Beach just as the sun was setting, and the cloud formations turned on quite a show for us. ------- Out of the 10 grandchildren, 8 were boys, and probably the most competitive group of cousins I have ever photographed, which makes for some highly entertaining running race outtakes ... ------- Then to finish off a wonderful afternoon, we got to witness a turtle getting ready to lay her eggs right up near the rock embankment. The guys from the Mackay Turtle Watch Association were on hand to ensure she was protected from the many people who had gathered round to watch. So please, if you are heading to many of our amazing beaches, please keep your eye out and be sure to give these guys plenty of room to do their thing. (Note the last photo was taken with a very long lens, and under the guidance of the experts). See more

I have photographed him a few times now, all outdoors, but I love how much more relaxed pups always are in their own surroundings. ------- We started with a few photos in the front yard, before getting back in that airconditioning, for some photos on his favourite rug, and then of course, pride of place on the main bed, with both his little human Max, and his favourite toy

One short awake moment to give me a good glaring, and then back to sleep. I love photographing this family, and can't believe it's been over 3 years since photographing Nadia's newborn session. She is such a sweet big sister, and Leon has certainly been blessed with a best friend for life

12.01.2022 bronte // #sessionshare ------- So back in June, when one of Bronte’s humans approached me about doing a secret session, so that she could surprise Bronte’s dad for his birthday, I was totally on board. I have a great history with blue heelers in sessions, and Bronte did not disappoint. Whether chasing her ball, or quietly posing waiting for me to get the shot, Bronte took it all in her stride. 11.01.2022 tennessee's 3rd birthday / #cakesmash ------- After three years, I'm pretty sure when Tennessee see's me, all he thinks is CAKE! So much so that this year, we couldn't hold him back for a posed shot of him with the cake, launching himself at it instead. Sadie was forced to wait to get her share, but she didn't hesitate either ------- Huge thank you to Jodie of The Pawtisserie Bake Shoppe for the amazing cake Tennessee polishing off almost all the decorations before even getting into the cake.

Some serious work went into making all of the gorgeous details of the day, and I was honoured to have been asked to capture it all. 07.01.2022 denni, gemma, canada + sully // #sneakpeek ------- You might remember this amazing red dress from a couple of days ago. Well, as a follow up to Denni's formal photos, we did a session with her in her formal dress with her horses. Sully was actually a little fascinated in the dress. ------- While I was focused on the Denni and the horses, the three pups Chino, Bandit and Jet definitely didn't want to be left out. Jet casually posing close by wherever we were, Bandit preferring to be not more than 10cm from my face, and Chino (after really not liking me at the start), either sitting on my camera bag, or running full tilt at me for a pat. From the sneak peeks, can you guess which one's which?

07.01.2022 the saunders family // #sneakpeek ------- Everything aligned this morning to allow us to sneak in this extended family session, from everyone being in the same town, to work rosters, and even the weather 2021 will see not one, but two new additions to the Saunders clan, so we snuck in some quick maternity shots as well ------- The little furry face is Magic, an 11 year old moodle who, as you can tell, is at his happiest when getting cuddles from his humans

06.01.2022 #studiodogsam loves Baskin Robbins, and always gets to clean up the empty container. When Fiona found out one of her favourite flavours was about to end, she bought the biggest take home pack she could, so this is the first time he has ever gotten this size container. Didn’t quite know what to do at first

06.01.2022 the leigh family // #sneakpeek ------- It felt like a serious case of dejavu yesterday afternoon. Bucasia Beach, a gorgeous family, and a black and white border collie. Ella is just 2, with a serious love of running on the beach. Having to wait while we had some more serious portraits in the park was like torture for her.

04.01.2022 the browne family // #sneakpeek ------- Expecting a new addition to the family in a few weeks time, I was honoured to capture this very special time for them. Bessie & Evie had an absolute ball, and proved just how clever they are by breaking into my treat bag. Well everyone pointed at Bessie, but nothing could be proved. ------- 'Puppy' also made an appearance, and I captured Vivienne with what I'm guessing is her very favourite toy. Pro tip for future families. If your little one has a special toy, bring it along to the session. When you look back on the images years later, you will be glad you did. It adds to the story, and extra-personalises your final images.

03.01.2022 Prentiss // September Calendar Star ------- Prentiss may look a little 'sad wet puppy' in her calendar image, but I can assure you she had a great time during her session last year. After being forced to stay dry for at least a few shots with her newly engaged humans, she was allowed to let loose. Switching up crazy zoomies, with running straight at me and stopping short to pose for a quick photo and a treat. So this face you are seeing is actually her 'please can I desperately have that treat' face. ------- Our 2021 Calendar is now available for pre-order! 03.01.2022 paddington + mikey // #sneakpeek ------- These two, and their cousin Banksy were part of the most beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony yesterday afternoon, overlooking the ocean at Dolphin Heads. It was important to their humans that they be included in the wedding celebrations, and I simply love working with clients who love their pets as much as they do. ------- Mikey had one of his favourite people on hand to give him cuddles, and transport him to the different photo locations around the garden

So much excitement led to two very tired puppers on the drive home. ------- An especially big shoutout to the team at Homebush Boarding Kennels.
