13.01.2022 To the members of Coffs rifle club. It is with much regret, to inform you that the last of our ‘Long Time Club Legends’, Graeme Veale has passed away. Graeme joined the club in 1950.... He played a big part in the purchase of the 80 acres and the construction of our Dairyville range. In 1992 he introduced Field Class which saw membership increase to new heights. Target shooting was a big part of Graeme’s life, he was a walking encyclopedia on the subject and always willing to give advice. Back in the 90’s he was a Councilor on the NSWRA board, during that time and with much effort, he had Field Class included in the NSW Championships (Queens). Over the years he held many committee positions and is one of only 18 people with Life Membership of the NSW Rifle Association. He also received a number of awards from the NSWRA for his dedication and commitment to the sport, see attached photos. Although gone forever, he will never be forgotten. Shall advise the funeral details when I know. Geoffrey Hart President, Statistician & Publicity Officer Coffs Harbour Rifle Club Inc. PO Box 1041 Coffs Harbour NSW 2450

11.01.2022 Please see below message from Andrew Veale Graeme Veale Funeral details Hogbin Drive crematorium, Coffs Harbour at 10am on Wednesday 15 July, 2020. The Veale family have requested that any members of the Coffs Harbour Rifle club present, to please wear CHRC shirts and hats, as dad was a very proud of being a club member.... We also please request that the CHRC members to perform a guard of honour for dad’s coffin (from the hearse into the door of the chapel) and then (for my mother Daphne and the family) as we leave the chapel. This would be greatly appreciated, is a great tribute to dad. This is something that dad would love after being one of the founding members of this club. To participate in the ‘Guard of Honour’ be there by 9.30am. As per dad’s previous request, Alan Phillips, who has known dad for a number of years at the club, has kindly agreed to say some words on behalf of the CHRC as a tribute to dad, which is greatly appreciated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will only be 55 persons allowed in the main chapel (seated) and further room (standing) at/inside and near the front door. There is also an adjoining room (seated) that has a large screen to view the funeral live. As there is limited room in the chapel, it is requested that the family (total of 21 persons in number) and also 2 other speakers at the funeral, be given first preference for seating, before others take a seat. This will be managed by staff at the door. If any CHRC members cannot attend dads funeral, his service will be live streamed on the Keith Logue and sons Facebook book site, click onto that page, ‘like’ and then you will be able to view the live stream event either at the time or a time later on at your leisure. It is unknown how many members will attend so if in attendance at dads funeral, to stop any issues, please abide by social distancing principles and comply with any directions re same given by staff from Keith Logue and sons at the venue. You will also have to sign a Covid-19 ‘contact register for a public gatherings’ to comply as well. Staff will have that register at the door. Thanks very much, the family are very appreciate of the assistance given by the CHRC which would make dad very happy and proud. Kind regards, Andrew Veale

04.01.2022 RIFLE CLUB REAPS THE REWARDS OF IMPROVED FACILITIES Great news - $25,000 in State Government funds will bring welcome upgrades for Coffs Harbour Rifle Club me...mbers. The improvements will include expansion of the existing awning and flooring, along with target frames to increase the number of lanes, and the purchase and installation of two electronic target systems for long range target matches. The funding was made available under the Community Building Partnership program. Coffs Harbour Rifle Club is one of the many organisations in our community which is thriving. The club has developed into a vibrant space where people from all walks of life and ages can come together to share their passions and encourage each other in pursuit of their chosen sport. They deserve this support from the State Government, and I look forward to seeing their projects come to fruition. Coffs Harbour Rifle Club Authorised by G. Singh, Park Avenue, Coffs Harbour.
