24.01.2022 It is just a few weeks since entries opened and already we have riders joining us from Victoria, Queensland and across New South Wales. We have entries in every ride distance, right through from the challenging 165km ride to the 10km family ride.

24.01.2022 Join us for a week or a day Organisers of the Cycle Challenge are currently developing a week-long Festival of Cycling around the annual C.ex McDonald’s Cycle Challenge. Visitors will be able to join a host of local ride groups in the week prior to the Challenge, providing them with opportunities to cycle many of the picturesque routes on the Coffs Coast. "Our aim is to provide a wide range of cycling activities in the week prior to the Challenge, and thanks to the cooperat...ion of many cycling groups in Coffs Harbour, we look like we will be able to put together a terrific schedule. We have groups who start off at 5.30am in the morning for a quick 100km ride before breakfast, right through to mature aged cycling groups who combine coffee with their 30km peddle. A number of cycle groups have also offered to set up additional rides during the Festival so there is something for everyone through the week, said event manager Judy Smith And perhaps the most exciting of those opportunities will be the possibility of riding criterions through Sawtell main street on Saturday afternoon 27th October. The Sawtell Chamber of Commerce is supportive of the idea and the route has been given the approval by Coffs Cycling Commissaire Geoff Hardaker. Organisers will now move into the approval process so stay tuned for the good news!!

23.01.2022 ENTRIES OPEN 1ST MAY Entries for the Challenge open on 1st May 2018. Earlybird entries will receive a 10% discount, open until 30th June. Rider numbers will be allocated by entry order, so set the clock so you can get that revered #1 tag.

18.01.2022 The Raleigh bridge will be open for cyclist during the Cycle Challenge. Restrictions will be in place to ensure the safety of the riders. A ‘tunnel’ has been created on the main bridge that currently allows buses and local traffic to cross the bridge at specific times each day. This tunnel will be in use during the Challenge, allowing cyclists to distance themselves from the refurbishment work on the bridge. The safety measures that will be in place for cyclist include: ... Single file through the tunnel Speed reduction to 10km through the tunnel Traffic marshals on either end of the bridge and on the Raleigh roundabout please follow their instructions. We would like to thank the staff at RMS for their efforts in ensuring that our riders will be able to access the bridge.

18.01.2022 Introducing Wayne Varney - the first entrant in the 165km ride. Wayne is a 45 year old IT consultant from Melbourne, which is a long way from beautiful Coffs Harbour. But after cycling in the area in Easter, and with a mate moving to Sawtell, Wayne saw the opportunity to visit again and ride the 165km route. "The natural beauty of the area, plus the challenge of the 165km route won me over. I am really looking forward to the Challenge, the warmer weather and meeting new people" said Wayne. Welcome Wayne, we hope you enjoy the ride and your time on the Coffs Coast.

13.01.2022 Raleigh Bridge Update RMS Project Manager has advised the Raleigh Bridge temporary walkway will be open to cyclists on Saturday 14th July. The walkway is rated to take max 4 pedestrians/cyclists at a time. Cyclists will need to dismount. Even whilst the walkway is available, there will be times that it may be closed due to paint removal process etc hence important to identify those times most used.... RMS intend to put this information at the bridge. A publicity announced is due to be released including a reminder of the safe vehicle passing distance (1.5m above 60 kmph).
